It is not the sin itself that shocks me. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

What shocks me is the hiding of sin, the manipulation of the truth, and the desperate attempt to change the narrative in pursuit of power.

Repentance is what keeps sin from taking dominion over a person’s life. Repentance gives us access to the power of the cross, the mercy of God, and the victory of the risen Son, Jesus Christ.

Tomorrow, I will vote my conscience. I will vote for men and women who understand that no position, no title, and no amount of power is worth the condition of one’s soul.

An unrepentant soul is a soul out of communion with God and not fit for public office.
