@ak059@dream_explorer7@SayantikaSays So men's money belongs to the family by law, but women's time, labour, pregnancy and caregiving belong to the family by default. Yet only one is called responsibility?
@ak059@dream_explorer7@SayantikaSays Financial responsibility isn't the only form of responsibility. Women bear domestic and caregiving responsibilities. The issue being discussed is why women are increasingly expected to do both paid and unpaid labour, while men's domestic contribution is still treated as optional.
@ak059@dream_explorer7@SayantikaSays The issue isn't that women 'choose' careers. The issue is that women are expected to keep all traditional responsibilities while also working. Men entering household responsibilities to the same extent hasn't been normalized.
@dream_explorer7@SayantikaSays If men are not machines and shouldn't be expected to work both outside and inside the home, then why are women expected to do exactly that after marriage
@ak059@dream_explorer7@SayantikaSays Interesting how women's careers are called a 'choice', but men's careers are treated as a necessity, even though both have worked equally hard to attain it. And somehow household chores remain a woman's responsibility regardless?!
@Arindam8999 Then what was the point of your post? If you're merely stating that humans have evolutionary baggage, nobody disagrees. But your entire tweet was written as a defense of why outrage is directed differently at women. "If a man is with multiple women... it's different."
@Arindam8999 "Humans evolved this way" and "therefore this double standard is reasonable" are two completely different arguments. My reply addressed the second, which was your original claim.
@Arindam8999 "What is" and "what should be" are different things. Even if evolutionary pressures differed historically, that doesn't make sexist double standards reasonable in modern society. Describing an instinct isn't the same as justifying discrimination based on it.
@pinkcellgirl I feel women should instantly call the police at the slightest hint of dowry by the guy or his family, these beggars should know the consequences of their actions.
@Eren_yeager_95@MrKelv1n@memenist_ Who said she's a freeloader? The point is that if cooking is so easy, why mock the person doing it instead of doing it yourself?
@Frostgambit9191@StukInWorseLoop@MrKelv1n@memenist_ You keep saying I've "won nothing", yet you still haven't addressed the original question.Still waiting for an actual counterargument. So far you've only managed abuse and "it was sarcasm"
@Frostgambit9191@StukInWorseLoop@MrKelv1n@memenist_ If you're going to be condescending and mock an mbbs doctor, the least you can do is fact check your statements. Mbbs is a 5.5 year course, not 10. Aur ho gayi meri mbbs, "ganwaar". So, tu "nikal".
@Kishor6956129@MrKelv1n@memenist_ It requires brains to understand the argument, koi na, someday you will understand the logic behind not mocking something you're yourself unable to do.
@pureinbox7@MrKelv1n@memenist_ Nobody's playing the victim. If you think cooking and other domestic labour is easy enough to mock, you're welcome to do it yourself. That's the entire point.
@StukInWorseLoop@MrKelv1n@memenist_ Commenting on my "Shakal" while hiding behind a faceless account? Peak incel behavior. Insult karne se logic nahi aa jaata. Thanks for proving my point though
