addicted to endings

humans are addicted to finales.
we want closure,
we crave the last page,
the rolling credits.

but life doesn’t give that.
people leave mid-sentence,
dreams cut to black
without warning,
songs end
before the last verse.

and yet,
we still keep waiting
for the grand ending,
as if life were a movie
and not an unfinished sketch.

i write for those who know some stories don’t end—they just stop.
