Went to a friend’s son’s graduation party today and ended up talking Canadian politics and the economy with a few people.

One thing became pretty clear. Regardless of what you think about the policies Canada has imposed on itself, Trump has become THE explanation for much of what is going wrong.

The trade war. The economic uncertainty. The pressure on Canada.

The thinking seems to be that Trump is the enemy. Survive him, wait for the midterms, wait until he’s eventually gone, and things will get better.

What surprised me was how little attention was given to Canada’s own economic decisions.

Right or wrong, that mindset is very real.

The son of a former IRGC vice-president has been setting up businesses in Canada for over a decade helping to develop weapons and weapon systems for them.
