It’s International Women’s Day (IWD)! 💜
Education, training, mentoring and knowledge-sharing all help create a more supportive world. That’s why the IWD theme is ‘Give to Gain’. If we all give our time to sharing knowledge and resources, we create space for everyone to thrive.
Our workforce believes in this mindset and strives to continue learning with Ambition being one of Kibble’s key values. Around 1 in 12 members of our dedicated staff steam are actively studying at any given time. 📚🎓
Well done to Principal Teacher Tracey, Senior Early Years Practitioner Angelina, Child and Youth Care Worker Lisa and Senior Practitioner Iona who recently gained additional qualifications funded by us. 👏

🎄On behalf of children, young people and staff across Kibble, we'd like to wish you a Merry Christmas and warm wishes for the festive season.
Our Christmas message this year has been designed by a talented young person at Kibble who won our Christmas card competition.
🎄Last week we held our annual Winter Warmer performance alongside the incredible Dirty Feet Dance Company, Milldale Day Opportunities & Stanley Park Care Home. What an amazing festive afternoon we had of singing, dancing, music, film and even a panto performance by Goudie Academy pupils.
Thanks to everyone who joined us for an amazing day!
On Christmas Day, find Kibble Kitchen Assistant Ruby singing Christmas songs while helping to prepare a traditional Christmas feast. The excitement in the kitchen feels much the same as any other time of year because the cheerful team are always happy and uplifting others! 🎅🍖✨
Ruby assists with recipes and meal preparation, keeps supplies well-stocked and preps ingredients. She also supports young people who are working towards their catering qualifications.
“My best Christmas Day at Kibble was when one of the staff teams who look after young people decided to decorate a room into fancy restaurant. They wanted the kids to feel as if they were going out somewhere truly special for dinner.”
As Kibble opens new services and aims to help even more young people, it is essential that staff share and uphold Ruby’s commitment and mindset to always put the kids first.

Goudie Academy pupils held their Christmas Fayre, raising a phenomenal £1288 for @CrewDarkwood. But that was only the start as Kibble agreed to once again match the donation, raising a ground-breaking £2576 to support Darkwood Crew's Christmas Appeal.
The funds were used to purchase foods for the weekly food market which helps those in the community who are struggling to put food on the table. A huge well done to our pupils on their incredible fundraising efforts which will bring a little joy to families this Christmas.
Child and Youth Care Worker Jonathan prefers to spend Christmas Day with the young people he supports, surprising them with gifts under the tree!
With a career in care spanning almost 10 years and a birthday on New Year’s Day, Jonathan has taken on the personality of a Christmas elf from Santa’s workshop, bringing joy and magic to the 25th December and catching up with his own family and friends the following week.
🗨️“I love working Christmas! It’s a time for having fun together and we have made our own traditions and routines here.”
“On the big day, young people want to be in their jammies and super-soft oodies. They’ve challenged me to a game of Mario Kart too.”
