In 2018, I publicly endorsed my friend Dorcas Oduor to be our first woman DPP. She qualified but we know her Luo ethnicity was used against her that time. I am truly elated on her nomination by President William Ruto to be our First Lady Attorney General. No one is more deserving of the office than Dorcas. She has the intellectual depth, humility, grace & experience. With Shadrack Moses as her Solicitor General, the duo will finalize reform the Office of the attorney General. God Bless Thee Dorcas!
I saw this and reminded myself that sadly, mental illness is now a full blown pandemic in this country.
Mutahi Ngunyi, @MutahiNgunyi obviously assuming that Gen Z folks don't read history, is purporting here that the great Nandi Orkoiyot, Koitalel arap Samoei, was William Ruto's father. Even before we go into further details, let us just be clear that the Nandi Resistance against the railway line happened in 1905, and Koitalel himself was assassinated by the colonialists in October of 1905. Ruto would have to have been born in 1905, or latest, nine months after October 1905, to be the Koitalel's son. And that is before you consider that Samoei was in fact not Koitalel, but his father, who died in 1897. So for Ruto to be Koitalel's son, he had to have been born latest 1897.
Let's discuss something else. Even though Koitalel is celebrated as a Nandi leader, available records now show that he was a Maasai and a close relation of Orkoiyot Olonana. But we can give the Nandis this one and return to Ruto. Available records also show that Ruto himself is actually a Kipsigis, whose family moved to the Sugoi area as late as 1968, when Ruto himself had already been born. The Kipsigis people like to point out that Ruto is in fact a Kisii from Borabu, who only took up Kalenjin identity much later. We won't ask the Abagusii, because they will refer us to the Abaluhya, and so forth and so on. But the point is, Ruto is not even a Nandi, to begin with.
If you have been around long enough, you must know by now that William Kipchirchir Ruto added the noun "Samoei" to his name when running for the Eldoret North Constituency seat in 1997, largely because he was competing against the Tugen called Reuben Chesire, and needed the anti-Tugen vibe to win as a Nandi. Uasin Gishu is a former Maasai zone but a Nandi stronghold, so when voters in 1997 heard that there was a Nandi on the ballot related to the great Orkoiyot, they were mesmerised. But Ruto wasn't related to the legend and had nothing close to the legendary king. However, as with everything related to Ruto, this too was another con game he got away with.
Of course anyone with Mutanyi Ngunyi's access and abilities knows this story. But stomach politics makes people like Ngunyi behave like this. Except that history lords like us won't allow it.
Look at our independence leaders. Articulate, confident and thoroughly knowledgeable.
If they woke up from the dead to find Gachagua, Murkomen, Didmus, Sakaja, and Ruto are now the leaders, they would kill themselves and return to the dead for good!
What if and i insist what if the KDF feels that it's time to keep this House called Kenya and took over the government to clear now that they're loose on our streets, just a grave concern DK.
Letting KDF undertake civilian security is the biggest miscalculation by the Presidency. Kenyans have no love lost for National Police Service. The Police without reflection shoot at Kenyans without any provocation. On the other hand, our Army is known for being civil & donโt shoot Kenyans. The danger will arise when Kenyans switch loyalty to the army. A rule across time: DONโT TEMPT THE GODS!
