We recently joined a new church that is looking for a building. Before we came they bid on an old building that wasn’t handicap accessible, but lost the bid. A friend of ours said, “I guess looking back it’s good we didn’t get it because how would we minister to the Kick family”

First of all: it just means everything when people consider my kids’ disabilities and make sure nothing hinders them from the gospel or their ability to just be kids. HOWEVER, it blows my mind that CHURCHES aren’t required to follow ADA.

This is my son at church. Years ago I would have been embarrassed. Not only am I not embarrassed but I’m encouraged by his liberty. I pray more churches create environments for special needs families.
