@davidpotes@jeremyslevin i imagine it’s pretty hard to pass legislation when you’re the only person who gives a shit about people in the “Yay Israel, Fuck You Die Citizens” place
@BigFish3000 Maybe don’t park the unanimously supported funding bill in the house, the republicans are the cause of this an they’ll be the end of this country
@Facts0601 Oh yeah man 50 more years of “the lesser of two evils” is definitely gonna get us where we need to be. Why demand anything of your government
capitalism requires workers to be dependent and replaceable which manifests as a stable base of unemployed that we normalize into structured umeployment. that shows up as constant economic insecurity for millions (poverty).
The structural demand for Profit demands suppressed wages and higher prices for whatever widget a company is selling whether it is RENT or healthcare, experienced as POVERTY.
The inputs for those widgets continue to manifest as child and slave labor throughout history, but today specifically it shows up as children working in rare earth mines globally .... but we don't count that because we don't see it (absolute POVERTY just for the latest cell phone or EV battery)
Poverty isn’t just a side effect it’s structured into the system....distributed unevenly and pushed to the periphery to sustain stability at the center, and because we in the center don't see the horrors on the periphery, we think captalism is just fine when it requires poverty somewhere, whether we acknowledge it or not.
I can cite authors and the textbook names for each of these structural requirements if you like
Sidenote: there is a difference between free markets and capitlaism.
“I just want to say, Free Palestine, Fuck ICE, go Geese!”
— Geese’s Max Bassin during the group’s International Group of the Year acceptance speech at the #BRITs
Bombing Iran in the middle of negotiations, while starving Cuba, while genociding Palestinians, while threatening to invade Greenland… the US and Israel are the single greatest threat to humanity and it’s not even close. We are all forced to live in the nightmare they create.
@harryjsisson how about a democratic candidate who isn’t pro-Israel and pro-billionaire, who wont ransack homeless camps and will actually do something that would benefit the working class
