Wow
Think all the SEC teams did well with their American hires, especially Arkansas.
Silverfield gets overlooked but was 5-0 against Golesh and Eric Morris. NFL experience. Longer track record of success than some of the other guys in the mix there. Never had a losing season.
This is what college football is all about! New Mexico take down SDSU at home and now await the result of Boise State Utah State. A Boise State loss puts New Mexico in the MW Champ game. For now, they party on the field in Albuquerque.
Watching fellow so called “journalists” glaze the Players Era Festival is really dissappointing. It singlehandedly ruined Feast Week for a lot of basketball fans, and is bad for the sport.
Sources I’ve spoken to have said the event sponsors have paid members of the media a pretty penny to paint the tournament as the next big thing. Comped rooms and drinks, free after parties, player meet and greets. These people are there to get a paycheck and act like they know hoops. Just sad.
I however, am here on my own personal dime. It’s just the right thing to do for the sport. And I’ll tell you the truth: it’s not very good. It’s not the Feast Week hoops experience I was promised. I’d prefer to watch two Top 25 teams go at it in the Bahamas or a Red Roof Inn ballroom than sit in an empty arena in Las Vegas and stare at a court COVERED in ads. It’s basically the NBA Cup on steroids. It sucks.
Do these people want college basketball to become the NBA? Let’s ask Adam Silver how that’s going…
Players Era will have 32 teams next year and the plan is for it to be broken into 3 weeks in Vegas, Ian Orefice told @TheFieldOf68.
16 teams the first week broken into 2 8-team events.
16 teams the second week with 2 8-team events.
Third week the winners of the first two weeks advance.
