Has anyone noticed that the web desktop @googlecalendar app has become next to useless? It freezes on loading and takes 2-3 minutes to become interactive.

@littmath My favorite example of this is that limits, which is the first thing a calculus student learns because it justifies the derivative, was invented more than 150 years after Newton and Leibniz invented calculus.

And yes I have Active Directory and Intune but there doesn't seem to be anything to be done to make this easier.

And the "fuzzy" password authentication policy requires passwords they can't remember. It doesn't matter if someone hacks their password; they won't be able to do anything. Let me make it easy and take my own risks.

Preparing @microsoft @surface laptops for young students...sucks. Everything is made "easy" for an adult with a phone, familiarity with passwords, and normal-size fingers. Kids don't have their phones on campus. The fingerprint scanner doesn't work for small fingers.

@madzadev It also depends on the math and what you're doing. I mean if you're doing video games then knowing trig helps a lot. If you're writing a program to resize graphics then vector operations is useful. Discrete math is considered a prereq of DS&A.

- Methods have to take two 'self' arguments instead of just one so you can be REALLY sure the object knows what it is

As a programming teacher I've noticed one thing kids often want to learn to do is use time.sleep() or similar to make it look like the program is slowing down from some heavy data processing in the background.

@AfricaKenyah I had the same experience. The functional approach was totally confusing the first time I read it. But it got me thinking that way and now that approach feels natural in JS.

@EduCelebrity What we really need is one more program where Ivy grads can suck at teaching the poorest kids for 3 years till their student loans are forgiven then go to law or business school just when they're starting to be any good.
