October 28, 2014: Julius Randle breaks his leg in his 1st NBA game.
July 2, 2018: After improving each year since his injury the Lakers decide they don’t want to commit long term.
July 9, 2018: Julius Randle bets on himself & signs a 1 year deal with the Pelicans for 9 million.
July 9, 2019: 1 year after betting on himself he gets the contract he worked so hard for & the long term commitment with the New York Knicks.
COVID Season: NYK is not invited to the bubble. Julius took that to heart & used it as motivation.
2020/2021 Season: Julius Randle breaks out turns himself into an All Star. 24 10 & 6 & wins Most Improved Player. He transformed his body physically. Hard work & dedication.
2021 Playoffs/2021-2022 Season: It was a rough outing in his first playoff series as the guy, he struggled & that trickled into the next season. Randle had transformed his body the season before but he needed to transform his mind, use his mental as a strength & not a weakness.
2022/2023 Season: He took the criticism & ate it up. He went to war…WITH HIMSELF & he came out on top. He focused on his mental & sculpted it to become a better player, teammate & person on & off the court. Back to being an All Star & helping his team back into the playoffs.
Present: Through the 1st 4 games of the playoffs it’s been another struggle for Julius but his teammates & coaches have his back. This postseason is far from over. I’m not trying to change your mind I’m just explaining why I’m confident in him. These struggles will build him up not break him down. Game 5 is coming soon & this season is far from over. Road Warrior 30 is coming 🔜 🗽👑 #NewYorkForever
So can the people slandering Russell Westbrook’s game and name explain why he’s a top three player in this series so far all of a sudden? Casuals have no idea how fit, tendencies and player psychology works.
Kevin Durant on Westbrook:
"When he retires, people are gonna tell the truth about how they feel about his game. Right now, [they] make a joke out of Russ."
Chris Paul:
"I feel like the only people to do that is the people who don't know basketball."
