Curious dude. Wary of reductions and simplifications. Interested in obscure, untrendy stuff, sometimes. Anti-anthroposupremacist. Ex-lots of things/isms/ists.
🚨A message to the pro-Israel camp:
I’ve known this community for a very long time. The overwhelming majority are amazing, kind-hearted, intelligent, and loving people in America, Canada, Europe, and Israel.
Most are proud of their non-Jewish allies, including their Muslim allies and, of course, their Christian allies.
I don’t think many Muslims have stood up against radical Islamists as consistently as I have, or faced as much backlash from them. But by the grace of God, I have the strength to confront their ideology because I know its sources and once had to expunge its influence from my own thinking.
And I fight this battle as a Muslim, not as an ex-Muslim; as a proud Arab and a proud Muslim.
Because I have always said: if moderate Muslims don’t stand up to the radicals, their silence leaves the radicals unchallenged (Agreement in silence).
However, there is a small but dangerous minority within the pro-Israel camp that tolerates hatred against all Muslims, not just radical Islamists, Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, or other extremist movements, but Muslims as a whole.
And they need to understand the damage they are causing.
What is the end game? To isolate Israel and the Jewish people even further?
I want Muslims to love and accept Israel as the homeland of the Jewish people, living side by side in peace with its Muslim and Arab neighbors including Palestinians, who deserve to live in dignity, security, and prosperity.
I want Muslims to stand against the enemies of peace: Hamas, the IRGC, Hezbollah, the Muslim Brotherhood, and every movement that uses religion to justify extremism and violence.
I want confused and misinformed Muslims to learn about the Jewish people, Jewish history, and the extraordinary common ground between Muslims and Jews.
I want us to thrive together and build a future that would make our forefather Abraham and his sons Ishmael and Isaac proud.
I want a Middle East where Israel is no longer hated and isolated, but accepted by all its Muslim neighbors.
And this small, dangerous minority within the pro-Israel camp risks blowing that vision to smithereens.
They are undermining one of the greatest breakthroughs in modern American diplomacy: the Abraham Accords.
They are shooting themselves in the foot.
So again, I ask: What is your end game?
When I visited Israel for the first time, I met senior government officials who spoke proudly about their Muslim friends and Israel’s Muslim community. They understood something fundamental: a war against the terrorists of Hamas must never become a war against Muslims.
That distinction is precisely what this dangerous minority in the American pro-Israel camp fails to understand.
Don’t destroy what President Donald J. Trump and his team worked to build.
Don’t destroy the hope the Abraham Accords have created in our region.
And don’t become the mirror image of the radical extremists you claim to oppose.
Because when hatred is directed at Muslims simply for being Muslims, we will call it out and stand against it just as firmly as we stand against Islamist extremism…without apology.
@Byoussef Endorsing & parroting cheap deep fake conspiracy trolls against a bondi beach survivors isn't helping palestinians one iota, quite the contrary. this probably features in the delay.
@FIFAcom@FIFAWorldCup#paredes is a total embarrassment to football. Dirty the entire match. Starting fights and assaulting people after the whistle. Please investigate the after the match incident: @lparedes sos patético.
@rte doesn't even have a "Ukraine" section anymore in the main topics. cmon lads. They are still being invaded. Also can you add "Myanmar", "Darfur" and "Sahel" and change "Climate" To "Climate and Biodiversity Crisis" and put it as the first one there please. Go raibh mile! x
@piersmorgan hats off for recent coverage of the IsraelPalestine situation & the wide range of voices on the topic. But, I really can't understand why you give such a big platform to Andrew Tate. Abjectly homophobe, misogynist, climate change denying, sex-cam tycoon, etc.etc.
@chrisandrews64@ipsc48@Farrell_Mairead @Wardy1916 @orourke_darren@paul_gavan@QuinlivanTD@pchrgaza Will you be condemning indiscriminate violence against innocents on both sides? At the protest the other day flowers for Israeli victims were destroyed and flags burned. Nope.
the polarised ethical relativism/selective outrage and false equivalence here is shocking.
@HeedlessHorse@DrUmarAlQadri I remember reading about the Algerian war of independence and thinking the same: Liberation achieved through barbarism is not liberation, its further enslavement. The same happened in France centuries earlier and we all know the reign of terror was worse than the monarchy.
I want to express my support for the people of Palestine, while also making it clear that I do not support Hamas.
As a Muslim, I cannot condone the actions of a militant group that targets innocent civilians. This goes against the teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , who emphasised the importance of protecting non-combatants and the environment even in war.
The videos circulating online that showcase violence against civilians are completely contrary to Islamic principles. It's important to note that being against Hamas does not imply support for Israeli occupation.
Ultimately, my stance is rooted in a desire for both Palestinians and Israelis to live in peace with equal rights.
I believe in a two-state solution for Palestine and Israel, which can only be achieved if the Israeli government treats Palestinians with dignity and ends the occupation.
#Palestine #Israel #PeaceForAll
@DrUmarAlQadri Shaykh Umar you are one of my go-tos for voices of reason. Shalom. Salam. Siocháin. 100% share your view here. No liberation is achieved through slaughtering children at a music festival or desacrating bodies or shooting people in their own homes.
@KhaledBeydoun "EXACT" oh dear. you are engaging in false equivalence/cognitive dissonance. Ukranians never fired a single bullet/rocket into Russian terrority. Nor did they slaughter hundreds of children at a Russian music festival. the Palestinian cause is tarred by this type of violence.
@bgraulau false equivalence/cognitive dissonance. Ukranians never fired a single bullet/rocket into Russian terrority. Nor did they slaughter hundreds of children at a Russian music festival. everyone has interests, not just the US. Russia has been an imperial force for 1000 years.
@AaronBastani False equivalence. Ukrainians never slaughtered hundreds at a music festival. And Far right Ukrainian factions were very much criticised.
@DrLukeWood@Trevornoah 's grandma saw him as "white", you see mixed race americans as "black". Im #Tanzania raised Irish. In Swahili we say "weupe" (white/light skinned) for Chaga people up north. Europeans are "wazungu" ("Dizzy").the american race framework is not universal.
@AIBIreland customer for nearly 20 years generally happy with service. wanting to check on how yiz are doing with the divestment away from fossil fuels towards sustainability. Can't find a recent report do you have one? and do you have independant advise/audits on this? thanks.
@wallacemick you actually remind me of this ridiculous caller with your bizarre whataboutery, false equivalence, and partylining. Please, listen to @mrjamesob on #ukraine

@MaxBlumenthal so you are against agreement with the Germans keep track of their far-right, but spend the rest of your time criticising the far right in Ukraine (which exists due to radicalisation from russia incursions since 2014). you are ideological, not truthful. of course we all want peace
@MaxBlumenthal Of course there are militias. just like there are militias in other parts of the world suffering meddling, invasion, and incursions from neighbouring imperialist powers. this leads to radicalisation.
