@winston45448699@pig_witch @SpoonieTrees My therapist said “Statistically, the best case scenario is as likely to happen as the worst.” Blew my little mind. Repeating that has helped me stop spiraling on many occasions.
@aspiringpeasant I grew up in a rural area. My parents burned trash so they didn’t have to pay a private company to come get it. The smells that came from that barrel haunt me.
@TheNicoleAria@toomanycommas3 I thought about going to mine for this reason but my classmates would not recognize that they were being stunted upon so what’s the point
@CatherineP725 @RizomaSchool My parents both worked in the 80s/90s and I spent almost every school night in elementary/middle school with my grandmother who’d get me up to catch the bus because my parents left for work at 6 AM.
@Dudeinnippon@swe11er Traditional families are made up of multiple children by multiple different mothers on your side? First I’ve heard that. Most conservatives are down on divorce.
@FreddyMagnus@Key_Lime_Pie@swe11er Why does she need to be prettier? I think she’s a great role model for girls with unruly dark curly hair, who wear glasses, who see fashion as fun. We can’t all be blonde, blue-eyed fashion plates.
@BillieRaeBrandt There a million reasons I don’t have kids, money is one. Both our incomes are needed to pay rent and bills; daycare costs more than I make.
@indexnforgetit@JoeCassandra I was raised 50/50 by my parents and my grandmother. But now I live 700 miles from my parents. My mom would probably be thrilled to watch my kids if I had any, but that commute might be tough…
@TulipsAndCats @7milesxam @whocalledbro@Angel_lucy2@notdanilu My parents had no idea what to tell me to wear to an interview for an office job. They worked in a factory and construction. They had zero concept of office workplace norms. I had to learn in the trial by fire way.
