I've been reading a brief on agriculture in Africa and found some interesting facts:

Africa spends billions of dollars each year on food imports, despite having a lot of uncultivated farmland.

Africa has a lot of water resources, but only 2 - 3% of them are used.

Big paradox!

Friends, Colleagues, today our athlete Rebecca Cheptegei OLY will be laid to rest at her home in Bukwo. Let’s pause and remember her, her legacy and keep her family in prayer at this very difficult and dark time. Rebecca was an inspiration to many and will continue to inspire several other athletes. May her unfortunate death be a constant reminder that there is no place for gender based violence and collectively we say NO to violence against women. Fare thee well Rebecca rest with the Angels

We have learnt of the sad passing on of our Olympic athlete Rebecca Cheptegei OLY following a vicious attack by her boyfriend. May her gentle soul rest in peace and we strongly condemn violence against women. This was a cowardly and senseless act that has led to the loss of a great athlete.
