The Supreme Court ruled that former presidents have absolute immunity from criminal prosecution for actions within their core constitutional powers, and at least presumptive immunity for all other official acts.

Any people punished for their actions on January 6 either pleaded guilty, or were convicted in a courtroom. Much of the evidence against them was videos they posted on social media. Democrats in Congress had nothing to do with it.
