@LoganGrafTax Today we’ll take the staff out for lunch at their choice of restaurant and then they are done after lunch. The Friday after the deadline is always a paid company holiday.
@SERobinsonJr So it's like owing any other car now. Tesla spoiled us with free loaners, mobile service, and remote fixes. As they scale and have to handle more repairs the premium service will suffer but still the best car out there.
@FortWayneCPA Call it “Pick Your Poison” 🤣. I’m working on this too for this next year. Are you willing to share what the packages include and how you are pricing them?
We put together a (new) 50-minute masterclass on how to optimize your 1040 tax prep process
5 members of my team spent 2 weeks on this one. It may be the most complete 1040 workflow resource on the web.
It's broken down into 11 steps:
1. Engage
2. Schedule
3. Intake
4. Workpaper Prep
5. Request
6. Input
7. Self-Review
8. First Review
9. Partner Review
10. Billing
11. Delivery
For each step we cover:
• The ways firms do (or don't) do it
• The leading tech to enable it
• Whether AI can automate it
• And how to deskill it
Important: you'll be shocked to see how firms use wildly different levels of expertise to get the same work out the door, so deskilling is a big talking point throughout the video.
I'll DM you the private link, no email addy required:
1. Reply with "1040"
2. Retweet
Let's get those 1040s out the door like never before 🤜🤛
@FortWayneCPA I find this to be worst on business returns. I’ve seen a lot of returns where bigger and “better” CPA firms than us just enter the numbers from the financials given to them by the client with no review of the financials. It has made me hate the words “trial balance”.
@FortWayneCPA As much as I love PTET for the tax savings it is a giant pain in CA due to the June 15th “do or die” estimate requirement. I’m torn between tax savings and making filing easier. But yeah, I think it’s over.
@LoganGrafTax I also have 3 kids and a tax and financial planning practice. Life is very busy trying to keep up with everything. When it gets to be too much, I think about when the kids move out and I’m retired and how much I’ll miss it all. And then I get back to work.
@JWellsTax We charge $250 for a dependent child’s return as a courtesy to our clients. They are easy and our clients appreciate it. Once they are no longer a qualifying child, they can engage us at our regular rates.
@andreamacdcpa@adammarkowitzEA Thank for this Andrea. Never seen this but I am going to start our newest employee on the bookkeeping and tax courses this week!
@Tesla FSD is awesome but struggles with a bike rack on the back. It thinks there is a car right behind it and accelerates and changes lanes to avoid getting hit by the bike that is attached. We need a “bike rack” or towing mode so it excludes the rear camera.
@FortWayneCPA And why can’t @Intuit update Lacerte at 5am? This year they have been coming around noon. I would rather update first thing in the morning than in the middle of a tax appointment. They have been in this business a long time. They should know by now.
@cordes_tax Have a friend who is a W-2 lineman and his tax guy had him set up a S-corp to write off everything related to his job. Truck, clothes, travel, and all sort of stuff. My friend stopped at putting his house in to the corp and depreciating it because he felt that was “too risky”.
