Before Robux and Tix existed, Roblox had an earlier currency known as "ROBLOX Points" (not to be confused with Player Points).
They were implemented in 2004 during Roblox’s early development, ROBLOX Points were one of the platform’s first attempts at an in-game economy.
ROBLOX Points could be earned by creating popular games, winning contests, or achieving high scores in minigames.
The currency was removed around March 2006 as Roblox began to evolve, and was eventually replaced by Robux, which officially launched in May 2007.
Introducing Roblox Plus, a new subscription replacing Roblox Premium on April 30, 2026.
Roblox Plus will include discounts on in-game and avatar items, free private servers, Robux transfers, access to trading, and a monthly Robux stipend.
