@sunlorrie@globeandmail Don’t they get fresh water and oil anyway? What are the negotiating points that make the separatists contract more attractive than the current deal?
I went to an APP meeting last night. The bad news, Mitch Sylvestre doesn't think option 2 will be successful
If you haven't went to one of these meetings PLEASE GO!
The APP has a better plan but they need all of us to make it work and it will if you listen and act.
@BrianJeanAB Call me pessimistic but I don’t believe Carney. I have been in the oil industry long enough to know that even if this happens it won’t happen for 10-15 years.
Never buying a GM vehicle again. They became all-out STUPID. And of course the dipstick sensor will fail right out of the gate, and it will cost $5,000 in labor to replace it because they'll have to disassemble half the engine.
Dumbest automotive decision ever.
Brookfield has $300M invested in Entropy who builds carbon capture facilities in Alberta.
Now one thing most of you might not be aware of is that the carbon credit market in Alberta has crashed below $20/tonne which makes any investment in carbon reduction uneconomical.
So why does that matter?
Well if you ever wondered why he’s so stubborn about forcing the Pathways project through, it’s because allowing the carbon credit market to fail in Alberta will effectively tank their Entropy investment.
By mandating Pathways go through, they now have cover to force a floor price of around $60/tonne for carbon credits, which is effectively the minimum credit price Pathways will need to make the numbers work.
Long story short: Decarbonized oil is bullshit. Pathways being forced through to justify articifial support of carbon credit market so that Brookfield doesn’t lose their $300M Entropy investment.
Yes, you should be mad.
🇨🇦 This is known as Luxury Beliefs.
👵 Bored, retired boomers with nothing else to do organizing an Ottawa-bound, EV caravan to protest against oil pipelines & "save the planet."
🚗 The bodies, interiors, paint & tires of their EVs are made of oil. As is the road they are driving on. So is their clothing, luggage, shoes, glasses, signs, ointments, electronics & medical eqpt casings & thousands of other items they use.
🚛 500,000 lbs of rock was dug up & processed with oil-powered, industrial machinery to make the 1,000 pound EV battery in their cars. Components & the car were delivered by oil powered transports.
👴 Their generation prospered on an oil-based economy. Now they want scarcity & sacrifice for everyone else.
🇨🇳 China is spurring them along & laughing at their stupidity. Useful idiots.
WTF?
The UCP was leading by 200 with 98% of the votes counted and then lost by 600 with 100% counted?
What the hell is that?
I haven’t seen anything like this since Joe Biden won the election.
