An old couple approached the Allahabad HC seeking maintenance from their daughter-in-law, stating that they were aged, illiterate, and financially dependent on their son during his lifetime.
After their son died in 2021, they were left without any means of sustenance. It was argued that all service-related and retiral benefits went to the wife, who is also a constable in the UP Police, and therefore should maintain them.
The court rejected their plea as per the law. A daughter-in-law is not required to maintain her deceased husband’s parents, even if she receives all the benefits and pension.
On the other hand, if a husband dies, the wife can claim maintenance from her in-laws. Even if she remarries, she can still claim her share in the ancestral property from the father-in-law.
Why are we running a Kalyug society with Satyug rules?
In view of the West Asia crisis, the central excise duty on petrol and diesel for domestic consumption has been reduced by ₹10 per litre each. This will provide protection to consumers from rise in prices. Hon. PM @narendramodi has always ensured that citizens are protected from vagaries of supply and costs of essential goods.
Further, duties have been imposed on exports of Diesel at ₹21.5 per litre and on ATF at ₹29.5 per litre. This will ensure adequate availability of these products for domestic consumption. The Parliament has been notified about the same.
A 42-year-old well-known local businessman in Mumbai had gained some weight.
This Sunday, he discussed with his family about adding cycling to his fitness routine.
On Monday, he bought a new cycle.
On Tuesday, he went for his first ride, and was killed by a speeding car from behind.
The car driver is a minor, so you can imagine how easily he will get away with this. This incident underscores a broader issue behind India’s fitness problem. Most cities simply don’t offer safe, dedicated spaces for basic activities like running or cycling. People are pushed onto public roads, forced to navigate erratic traffic, stray dogs, and constant risk. When staying fit itself feels unsafe, people understandably choose not to do it.
Those who want chaos in the country are spreading rumours about fuel and LPG shortage. This has the potential to trigger panic buying, hoarding, and black marketing, and disrupt normal supply.
This is the kind of issue the concerned ministry should handle proactively, immediately, and clearly. Just call a press conference, address all concerns, and ensure that the entire media is playing it round the clock.
Instead, messages are being passed through “sources.” What sources, man? Even I can say that JP Nadda will be joining DMK tomorrow. Source: sources. It has no value. People want assurance from the horse’s mouth.
In matter of minutes a supreme leader of country is assassinated or kidnapped in his own nation.
In minutes , the richest & most powerful people have to vacate (Burj Khalifa) & take shelter.
Always be grateful & keep thanking Almighty.. everything is transient, including U.
Any innovation should lead to larger benefit n economic welfare of all strata of society.
Steve Jobs while launching IPhone in 2007 never spoke of how a single device
Can create massive industrial disruption, effectively making several standalone product markets redundant by absorbing all functions in a single device- Digital cameras, MP3 players, CDs, GPS, Fax.. he spoke about larger opportunities n value creation. Did not do any fear mongering.
Compare this to AI founders using panic n fear to raise 100s of billions of dollars while still making losses ..talking of 20% layoffs in next 12 months…
May be I am old school and do not understand capitalism well but real innovation is empowering people specially lower strata of society and bringing them up the economic curve.
Have a good weekend folks!!

"You can say anything about Abhishek Sharma’s game, but he is NOT a slogger. He has one of the most enviable bat swings in cricket, even better than his mentor Yuvraj Singh. His only guilt is showing intent on every ball"
Do you agree🤔
1. How to Spot a Fake Breakout Using Open Interest (OI)? 🧵
The Trap 🪤
We’ve all been there. Index breaks a major resistance level, you buy the Call and 10 minutes later... it crashes. You just got caught in a Fake Breakout.
Considering the Indo-Pak cricket match i feel @CMShehbaz was doing the right thing by boycotting the match. It would have saved @TheRealPCB the ignominy of defeat.
Maithili Thakur, Bihar’s youngest MLA, just showed the country what people-centric politics actually looks like.👏
She questioned her own government on the state of healthcare in Bihar.
Spoke about a dispensary in deplorable condition.
Doctors absent.
Patients suffering.
When the Health Minister replied
she wasn’t satisfied.
✅ She didn’t blink.
✅ She didn’t back off.
✅ She countered the answer firmly and fearlessly.
✅ This is rare.
Most politicians ask “safe” questions.
Some defend failures.
Others stay silent.
But she chose accountability over comfort.
Being in the ruling party and still exposing ground reality takes courage, conviction, and honesty.
✅ That’s not anti-party.
✅ That’s pro-people.
This is what democracy looks like.
This is what representation means.
This is what new-age leadership should be.
Respect to her bravery.
The country needs more MLAs like this
who question power, not protect it.

The Economic Survey 2025–26 has finally said the obvious about freebies, what many of us have been saying for years. Salient points:
1. The unchecked rise of freebies is bleeding public finances dry.
2. Freebies are widening fiscal deficits and leaving little room for real investment in infra, education, or human capital.
3. While freebies may offer immediate income relief and temporarily boost consumption, they have failed to create lasting gains in nutrition, education, or poverty reduction.
4. The Survey also flags a less discussed consequence, freebies have reduced female labour force participation, quietly pulling women out of the workforce rather than empowering them.
5. The Survey warns that without reform, freebies risk turning into permanent fiscal liabilities instead of temporary safety nets.
6. The Survey calls for a shift towards conditional, outcome-linked, and time-bound welfare. It cites global examples such as Brazil’s Bolsa Família, along with similar models from Mexico and the Philippines. It warns that welfare without outcomes is not compassion, but bad economics.
However, I doubt anyone will take this seriously. The laadlis and laadlas are only going to get more laads with every subsequent elections.
Combining Open Interest with price action on expiry days can improve your analysis. Try it.
Today, 25000 PUT had good writing, and there was support near 24900(check the chart). Price moved up, but the 25200 CALL had max writing, and the price reversed exactly from that level.
Mean reversion trades work well on expiry days.
Now, the price will move below 25000 only if put writers start unwinding their positions.
A vivid display of India’s cultural mosaic unfolded at Kartavya Path earlier today. The Republic Day parade celebrated India’s cultural diversity, with vibrant performances and tableaux.

If a dalit neighbour has a personal dispute with you, all it takes is a complaint alleging that you used a caste-based slur to fix you.
There is no requirement for a preliminary inquiry. The police can register the case and arrest you immediately, after which you are produced before a court and only then allowed to apply for bail.
Even if there is no evidence and the case eventually collapses, the damage is already done. You may be arrested from your home, face social stigma, cause severe trauma to your family, risk job loss, spend days in custody, pay legal fees, and deal with endless procedural hardships, sometimes even bail becomes uncertain, depending on the court’s discretion (read bribe).
In such situations, acquittal does not undo the punishment. The punishment lies in the process itself. A man in UP stayed more than two decades in jail for a false compliant.
This is the power the Atrocities Act carries in its present form. A law that offers no effective safeguards against misuse is an atrocity itself against the innocent. This is not an ideological argument, it is simple logic. Yet no one is willing to address it openly, because in a democracy, questioning such laws is politically dangerous.
And it could have ended there. But now, a miniature version of the same approach has entered universities through the UGC equity regulations, extending the same logic into academic spaces.
