Cut off the woody outside. Cut the softer inner stem into little slices or shred them. and incorporate into slaw, or make into its own side with butter and salt. (My fave is slaw.)

Student in my rock history & culture class absolutely came for me for starting the class with basic aspects of music (“I’m not a musician, I don’t want to learn anything about music.”) and the music of Black Americans from slavery through ragtime. (“How is this culture?”)

Happened upon Shakespeare In Love this evening. Only the second time I’ve seen it and honestly I still think the other movies it was up against for Best Picture were stronger.

When my students complain about ledger lines, I tell them alternative is learning another clef. They stop complaining immediately. #lol
