Those who are concerned after leanring about the #PostOfficeScandal should Google #jointenterprise law, and await to be aghast at another huge #miscarriageofjustice story. My documentary follows @JENGbA on their fight since 2010 to free the innocent.
Another incredibly emotional afternoon with @JENGbA families & supporters at @DLA_Piper . Deeply moving talks from ex-prisoners & JENGbA mums…and brilliant insights into the justice system from @felicitygerry
Tonight Jimmy McGovern’s film Common is to be aired on BBC4 10 years since it was first aired and #jointenterprise convictions have got worse. Please keep talking about #jointenterprise

Last night, we held our first evidence session of the Westminster Commission on Joint Enterprise.
From those with lived experience to academics to CPS representatives, our panel of witnesses agreed on the urgent need for greater clarity on definitions of joint enterprise law.
‘I don’t think the people in there have got the intelligence to spell the word justice, never mind dispense it. They’re rotten!’

🧵Westminster Commission on #jointenterprise & launch of @JENGbA’s much anticipated Family Listening Day Report. We’ve come a long way from the days when the headlines called for #executing a child with a serious disability, who committed no violence, let alone murdered.
@CrimeandJustice have published their new report – The Legal Dragnet.
Written by @NishaWaller4, this report highlights how the current law on joint enterprise "allows and indeed encourages cases to be constructed with the absence of rigour and quality".

Reviewing Hansard on the #JointEnterprise (Significant Contribution) Bill which was debated in Parliament yesterday, Aylesbury MP cogent and sensible, but otherwise the only conclusion from opposing responses is that the law is not understood and some believe it is ok to convict people (present or not) without evidence - shocking stuff! @KimJohnsonMP@JENGbA

It was great to see MPs from all parties supporting the debate. Very sad to see ‘some’ MPs filibustering, playing politics with the issue, “talking it out” 😟#jointenterprise
Was great to be at this debate - here’s the excellent @KimJohnsonMP - some of the others were exhausting and wrong but to me it was clear that both sides of the house are concerned about #JointEnterprise law & the over criminalisation of alleged secondary parties
