Anticipating the eclipse wasn't 'good leadership,' it was basic military intelligence.
Azula fans love to confuse being an elite government asset with actually knowing how to govern. Zuko having Iroh isn't a sign of weakness; it's a sign that he actually understands how to build a network of trust.
Azula's isolation is exactly why her leadership collapsed in 48 hours. She couldn't even keep Mai and Ty Lee loyal, but you expect her to manage an entire empire?
Zuko built alliances with the Avatar and restructured a broken world. That is real power, not your fear-based propaganda.
Hard disagree on this one. People mistake tyranny for competence.
Azula is a brilliant military tactician, but she is a terrible ruler because her entire power structure relies on fear and perfection.
We literally saw her administration collapse within 48 hours of her taking the throne because fear creates paranoia. She banished her own servants, guards, and advisors. A ruler who trusts no one cannot govern a nation.
Zuko’s ability to build alliances and inspire genuine loyalty makes him far more competent at actual ruling.

Meanwhile, in the United States, police are firing 37mm rounds at close range at a young woman protesting against ICE.
Same state. Different justice.
2023: Alec Adamson (Prosper, TX) shoots & kills a Black student, leads police on car chase + foot pursuit.
Sentence: 4 years. Served: 2.
2025: Karmelo (Frisco, TX) gets jumped by white students, defends himself with a knife.
Sentence: 35 years.
Tell me this isn’t two-tiered justice.
At the end of the day, BLACK FOLKS…
They already have their minds made up about you. They don’t care about your education, your income, your house, your car, etc.
All they see is your Blackness.
So please spare the rest of us with the respectability politics!
He has multiple grounds for an appeal. He had an all white jury in a racially charged case. The district attorney removed potential Black jurors during jury selection without strong, race neutral reasoning, which is called a "Batson Violation". The judge had errors in his instructions to the jury on what self defense is.
