I’m learning knife, dagger fighting techniques from a Bedouin instructor

I’ve had this type of training before. Mostly military based.

Iam humbled and greatful. But there is a hint of selfishness here too.

Because

I believe you can’t take anything with you when it’s your time. But I also believe the people you have helped that have gone before you can speak on your behalf

I concluded that I can’t help everyone, but I can help the people that have been invaluable to me for the last few weeks.

Aside from my business partners, my driver and translator are the two people that have helped me the most and I feel lucky to have gotten to know.

But how to help them and show them my appreciation ?

Some of you may have noticed me dm’ing you and asking for advise with random questions

And the reply’s I’ve got helped me make a decision immensely

But how to give back ? You can’t change the world, like my dad would say.

But you can leave it a bit better than you found it. Like my mom would say.

I’ve thought about this for the last few days.

When I was young my father would say. You don’t have to leave a mark on the world, just be a good person.

My mother would say, when you leave a place, leave it a bit better than you found it.

Every now and then these two memories pop up.

So I try to do both.

I’m leaving Thailand tomorrow and this country has taught me a lot, about myself.

I take a lot of things for granted and often forget how lucky i was to be born where I was born.

So I have a sense of gratitude,of seeing and meetings people who have reminded me to be humble.

And you cast away all people you see as negative from your circle

Then don’t be surprised when you go on that picnic
