@CaronAymericoff En cette période de vœux, je vous souhaite sincèrement de trouver un bon psychiatre. En cherchant bien, vous devriez en trouver un qui n’est pas complice de génocide
So many people are confused by this, because they keep telling each other that Jews are a race.
Jews are not a race.
Jews are an ethnoreligious group. The one thing they share is the connection to the faith, traditions, and tribe of Israel. While most of them have some shared blood, which is why "ethnicity" (not race) is a quite common identifier, they also consist of people of different colors who are still considered fully part of the "Jewish tribe." Jews today come from diverse ancestral populations formed through centuries of dispersion and integration, although most of the ancestry is a shared one.
The reason is that, unlike what many online polemicists claim, Jewishness in the Orthodox Jewish way is not a "pure race" but rather a matter of the soul. Yes, Jews will appeal to bloodlines and ancestry to recognize that someone is a Jew, but that's not because it is in the blood but rather because the ancestry confirms descent from someone who has a "Jewish soul" or is considered part of the tribe. Naturally, descendants of Jews will form a shared ethnicity. Hence ETHNO-religious.
Anyone can convert to Judaism, although it is traditionally a difficult and long process because it comes with great responsibilities for the convert and the community. In Orthodox Judaism, this is done through religious guidance by observing the proper legal rulings (halakha) which include ritual bathing, circumcision, the learning and acceptance of all Torah commandments, and the final approval by a religious court under a qualified rabbi.
Jewish religious education and upbringing are very scholarly and done with great diligence because every Jew is considered to have an obligation to fulfill the commandments and all Jews are responsible for each other, which is why a convert has to learn everything that is taught to a child born into a Jewish family but in a shorter timeframe with more intensity. This also makes Jews very communal.
Once a person converts, he or she is legally fully a member of the Jewish tribe and is considered a child of Abraham and Sarah. The person becomes "a Jew" at conversion. In Jewish mysticism, this person is said to have always had a Jewish soul, and is, therefore, not considered a converted gentile but rather someone who was born Jewish and is therefore just like other Jews in all religious and communal matters.
If a person converts to Judaism properly, the descendants of that person are also considered part of the tribe. If the descendants of that person convert to a different religion, they are still considered to have a spiritual link to the tribe although they are considered apart/lost and no longer within the covenant. If the descendants convert to Judaism, however, this is mystically considered a "return" of a soul whose roots are part of the People of Israel.
Therefore, Jews consider themselves a group, a tribe, or a nation, or simple "a people" with a shared history and connection. Descent from a Jewish mother is what helps confirm this connection, because descent from a mother is not ambiguous. So, a child of a Jewish mother is considered naturally part of the People of Israel. But it is not a requirement for a convert to have a Jewish mother to be considered Jewish.
You do not have to agree with this to understand and represent it correctly. Misrepresenting it does not change the facts. It's useless to you and mildly annoying to those who know.
Reminder. All traditional patterns have collapsed. You are free to do anything and organize your life as you want. There is no pressure from any group or society or institution. The modernity project is complete. You are liberated.
Many people cannot handle this truth so they make up fake statements about things "pressuring" them. It doesn't exist.
you idiot. you utter fool. you absolute buffoon. you hooligan. you thought you could escape love by saying you don't deserve it. but it found you anyways. what now you dumbass
