@MacFarlaneNews in the old days you just plopped your blanket down on the mall. brought a cooler and some food and sat all day. This fenced in fair is a fricken nightmare. Clearly the people who planned it have never been there for a 4th of July
@FutPrimeBrasil Because TODAY the 4th of July, the host had the US sing the national anthem at all games and there was a special 250 Anniversary program at each game. It has only been sung at US games prior to this.
yep, start planning your life post world cup because you will hit a low. meet up with people that were there with you, plan zooms with people you met along the way. otherwise you will be in low low mood for a bit
@RyanWeather There is a command ctr with all appropriate agencies and meterologists who made the call. Usually it's high winds because all those security tents and staging could have come down on people and lightening.
@dcolapinto@MikeCarterTV@LoveNOLA4ever What's so funny is it used to be organic. You showed up where you wanted when you wanted. You'd go down at 8am and put your blanket or chairs down and then you'd go back about 4pm with your cooler and food. Now it's like herding cats.
They must have working AC. Go to the Ohio Booth, say hi to my friend Kent working there. Tell him what you are doing, he'll probably take you around to the cool parties.
Enjoy Country Roads even though the some of the outdoor performances had to be moved inside or cancelled because of high temperatures. Can't get enough of Country Roads.
They were about go on stage at the National Mall for the Freedom 250 festivities here in Washington, D.C.
But then there was a heat advisory (it’s 38°C) so everything outdoors was canceled. Instead, here’s the next best thing, since I just can’t get enough of “Take Me Home, Country Roads”
It’s a love letter to a beautiful part of America, the open road, the freedom to wander, and that deep, undeniable pull back to where you belong.
Enjoy this video of @MrWinMarshall and Joey Davis with the band rehearsing in the trailer. Joey plays for Oliver Anthony who is from West Virginia.
@EricLDaugh can you guys come up with your own thoughts or do you have to copy everything POTUS says even though he wouldn't know a communist if they hit them in the face (Putin)
If you ever want to see history come alive, visit Faneuil hall and have the NPS docent give you a tour (I think his name was Sean). I just saw him on CNN and he has so much passion for history, I am going up there when it gets a bit cooler. Fascinating!
