For the last three and half years, I have had the honour of a solemn responsibility of serving my motherland as His Excellency President Ruto’s National Security Advisor and Secretary to the National Security Council.
Thank you, Excellency, for entrusting me with this solemn responsibility, and the privilege of walking by your side, parsing the delicate contours of vulnerabilities, risks, threats, as well as opportunities available to our country: crafting strategic responses, and advising on matters upon which the safety of our Republic largely revolved.
As I take my bow, I thank you most sincerely and extend best wishes to you as you continue to steer Kenya forward.
On 11th May 2026, I take up my next appointment as Under Secretary General of the United Nations, in a dual mandate, to serve as the next Executive Director of UNODC and Director General of UNOV, based out of Vienna.
I look forward to the support of my motherland, Kenya as I serve on this global arena
Asante Kenya, kwaheri ya kuonana!
From the roar of the crowd to the quiet rhythm of a heartbeat growing within 😌👶
As we approach Mother’s Day, we celebrate @BeatriceChebett not just for the medals and milestones, but for this deeply beautiful new chapter of becoming 🥹👶🏾
From chasing dreams on the track to soon holding one in her arms…
A new kind of victory is on the way and we can’t wait 🫡🫂

Carrying Kenya’s pride home.
As the national carrier, we are honoured to bring home world record holder Sabastian Sawe, marking a moment of national pride.
Welcomed with a water salute at JKIA, a fitting tribute to an extraordinary achievement.

@CBSEveningNews Do you know Sebastian owns the land he lives in, he has a very beautiful home. That being said a mud house is better than living In a place full of school shootings and governed by paedophiles
We celebrate you, Sabastian Sawe, for a performance of rare brilliance at the London Marathon. You have not only claimed a historic victory; you have redrawn the limits of human endurance, smashing the world record and breaking the two-hour barrier with extraordinary resolve.
This is more than a win; it is a defining moment. Your triumph places you firmly among the greats of global athletics and reaffirms Kenya as an enduring force at the pinnacle of distance running.
We also commend Hellen Obiri and Joyciline Jepkosgei for their remarkable second and third-place finishes in the women’s race. Your discipline and competitive fire continue to define the standard of Kenyan excellence on the world stage.
You have lifted our flag high, inspired a nation, and reminded the world of the power of determination. We are proud.
HISTORY HAS BEEN MADE 🫨
Sabastian Sawe becomes the first person ever to break the 2-hour barrier in official race conditions, storming to a historic 1:59:30‼️
@KejelchaYomif, on his marathon debut, also breaks 2 hours with a stunning 1:59:41 and @jacobkiplimo2 clocks 2:00:28, also faster than the previous world record 😤
@iamcheropmark It will be a heavyweight fight between Kiplimo and Sawe. Sawe is the man to watch, having run sub 2:03 in every of his races. However, Kiplimo is the most tactical runner in this field. If it comes to the last 400m sprint, Kiplimo will win. My prediction: Sawe 2:03:47.
