As an island nation similar to New Zealand, a better regulatory framework for vaping and other harm reduction products would have a greater impact on reducing smoking rates than in the UK, US, or Canada. The USA has many states with different regulations, the UK has to deal with European immigration issues especially from Eastern Europe, and Canada has a different set of issues.
I truly don’t care about the university not making as much money, and the university without the international students would have to live within its means. Recessions obviously suck, but Rudd saving us from the GFC is starting to bite us now. We could have a reasonable housing market and not be in a trillion dollars of national debt.
The vast majority of people don’t care about tobacco policies, and that’s why health ministers have subcontracted their policymaking decisions to the so called experts who think we need police to enforce the laws and that will solve the problems. They haven’t listened to police, who have consistently said this is a legislative issue, not a policing problem.
Australia: Averages roughly $0.24 to $0.45 AUD per kWh (approx. $0.16 to $0.30 USD). Rates fluctuate depending on the state, distribution network, and the specific retailer. China: Averages approximately $0.08 USD per kWh (approx. $0.12 AUD). Simple Google search but the simplest answer is energy costs.
@r3tarddownunder@friendlyjordies Both have points. The richest people are affected more, but it’s the richest who can decide to either pump millions into the share market or leave it in the bank.
@AusGovGunFacts@JohnRuddick2 $150k plus, with everyone on Sunday rates. There would have been an additional 4 plus control room staff and deputy commissioners watching a live stream. I’d like to see @JohnRuddick2 asking that question.
Generally, people don’t care about tobacco harm reduction and its open use because smoking was previously socially acceptable. Drug harm reduction by supplying needles and other products is great for preventing disease spread, but users openly using illicit drugs is what people see, and that’s going to be the downfall of those public policies.
The drug harm reduction program is a great example of actual harm reduction in progress. It’s a difficult issue that the general public should question. The problem is people using drugs openly and not cleaning up after themselves, which is why drug harm reduction will fail in the long run.
@wooldorsockbatt I’d rather steak than breakfast cereal or oats. Bacon and eggs are better than pancakes but occasionally having pancakes is a good treat.
And another day goes by @X@Support@premium@nikitabier@elonmusk
The suspension of a paying subscriber, @Algore09algor, without any explanation is unconscionable
Please review the suspension immediately and reinstate the account as soon as possible
No rules have been broken
@x community notes are a great way to counter misinformation or disinformation on this platform. Reading through posts completes the full conversation, however open discussion disintegrates when @x@elonmusk@premium@support suspends accounts without context like @Algore09Algor
Persistence and consistency can be virtues, but when you're consistently persistent and persistently consistent at suspending @Algore09algor in the face of widespread pushback, other adjectives come to mind.
#FixIt, please, @x@support@elonmusk.
In the interests of transparency
@elonmusk@x@support when you suspend/ban a community member do you contact them to explain why or 1 strike you're out, do you just ban without opportunity to rectify?
When you ban in error do you provide a remedy to that community member
It's ridiculous that @x users who pay for their account like @Algore09algor still can't get access to a human review of the mistake that has been made with his account.
You owe him a refund for ever day he's suspended.
There still hasn't been a clear example of "breaking rules"
Dear @Support
I think @Algore09algor's X account has been suspended in error. He is an insightful and articulate commentator on tobacco and nicotine policy and science, not a troll, bot or shill. I hope @X will reinstate his account and restore his voice as soon as possible.
