@MarnieKaplan There’s other ways this could have been handled, accept half from auditions and half from lottery to open the programs to more children, removing the whole process is just sad

@MarnieKaplan A citywide school for the arts was made for any child in the 5 boros to audition. I want a child who wants it to have the CHANCE to audition. There’s no guarantees in life but a chance other then a lottery is all I ask for. Let the kids been seen & heard as a name not a number

@ChristieNold I never said “belongs”. Any child can & should be exposed to the arts. There are many schools that have that at beginner level but if someone is at an accelerated level & there is a citywide school that offers training at this level then the audition process makes sense.
