We’re launching the Learning by Nature program at over 100 Schools across BC! 📚🌲
Learning by Nature is transforming schoolgrounds and empowering students to learn about nature—in nature. The program is creating opportunities for youth to learn about climate change, biodiversity, and the health benefits of nature, and to connect with real examples of conservation across the province.
Alongside six leading school districts, BC Parks Foundation is building Nature Parks on school grounds to improve learning and health outcomes, increase biodiversity in communities, and build support for nature conservation. Each school will be linked to a sister park or protected area, creating space for learning that’s rooted in the land, its biodiversity, its history, and the cultures connected to it.
Yesterday, we joined the Honourable Julie Dabrusin (@juliedabrusin), Minister of Environment and Climate Change, and the Honourable Tamara Davidson (@TamaraDavidson6), Minister of Environment and Parks, at General Wolfe Elementary in Vancouver to celebrate the launch of Learning by Nature—a unique Federal–Provincial–Private partnership supporting environmental literacy for youth.
Through the Climate Action and Awareness Fund, the Government of Canada is contributing $1.8 million, and the Province of BC is providing $1.5 million, alongside private partners, to support BC Parks Foundation’s new program.
“This is truly a made-in-BC approach: strong partnerships with organizations and our federal government counterparts, as well as working closely with Indigenous communities, knowledge keepers, and children. When we connect youth to nature on their own school grounds, we are showing them the beauty of the natural world, which is key to growing a culture of environmental stewardship.” — Honourable Tamara Davidson, BC Minister of Environment and Parks
“Environmental literacy is incredibly important for adapting to climate change and preserving the environment for future generations.” — Honourable Julie Dabrusin, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change
Thank you to our government partners and supporters of the BC Parks license plate program for helping make this possible!

Dear priests, thank you for your lives given in service to the Kingdom, for your daily efforts, for what you endure in silence, which is sometimes accompanied by suffering or misunderstanding. You are all precious in the eyes of God and essential in fulfilling His plan.

During the 2008 financial crisis, former Ontario Finance Minister Dwight Duncan and I worked together to protect Canadians from the worst of the stock market crash.
Thanks for your support, Dwight — then, and now.
