@KWSKenya just a reminder. Lions have been roaming around Vindo, Mbololo, and Kasighau, preying on our livestock—the only remaining source of livelihood during this drought season. We are living in fear and urgently need your intervention before lives are lost.
@KWSKenya it is getting out of hand. Year in year out, elephants destroy crops and only a fraction of victims get compensation that also takes ages! Now, Mbololo residents are afraid of going about their business due to the stray lions. We file report but tunapambana na hali zetu
🚨🚨 Taita Taveta's Kasigau Corridor REDD+ Project, covering 494K+ acres of ranches, has a 30-year carbon crediting period up to 2039. This effectively locks up land making PPP models for large-scale livestock & irrigation impractical until the REDD+ commitments expire. TEARS !!
Taita Taveta has over 1.2 million acres of community ranches, with an estimated value exceeding KSh 180 billion. Much of this land is now tied to the 500,000-acre REDD+ Extractive Project, limiting opportunities to unlock its full economic potential through PPPs.
