A reminder to progressives everywhere - the continued threat of the far-right is real and on our doorstep.
The next year is going to be pivotal for standing up for and defending our values - in London, in Europe and across the world.

Many are confused about it, so here's my mini briefing on #InheritanceTax in five simple steps (obvious do more reading/get advice before acting). Feel free to share
- Anything left to a spouse (married/civil partners) is EXEMPT from IHT
- You don't pay IHT on the first £325,000 of your estate left to others
- This is boosted to £500,000 if you pass on your main residence to your (biological/foster/step/adopted) children or grandchildren.
- You can pass on any unused allowance to your spouse, so if you left them everything they could then leave £1m (your £500,000 and their £500,000) including their home to children or grandchildren.
- If an IHT bill is looking likely, gifting rules can cut or cancel it out (whether from annual income or bigger gifts if you live long enough after)
I am bored of people who, when it comes to migrants, say 'we should look after our own' and in their next breath applaud cruella for saying that homelessness is a lifestyle choice. Not a coherent thought in their heads.
Appointing reckless #Brexit referendum instigator Cameron as Foreign Sec is a democratic embarrassment. If Sunak can’t even find one of his 350 MPs to take on one of the most important jobs in Govt, why on earth should this party be governing at all? We need a #GeneralElectionNow
@British_Airways your ground staff were clear that the reason our flight was cancelled was because Gatwick fine aircrafts which land after midnight. Please explain to me how avoiding that fine is 'out of your control'???
@HarryJohnWhite@Miss_Snuffy The absolute fucking gall of these ghouls to talk about 'woke snowflakes' when they lose their damned minds every five seconds is incredible
@simon_p_cooper@British_Airways It isn't. I've been waiting for 16 weeks! It is insane that they don't have a number you can phone to talk to anyone about it.
@houseoffraser ordered next day delivery nearly two weeks ago and no sign of parcel. I've reached out and been told I would be contacted by your team. Over a week later and no contact! I even had an email asking me to review the service I didn't receive. Advice please?
@houseoffraser I paid for next day delivery and my parcel did not arrive yesterday as it should have, nor today and Evri's tracker simply says 'delayed'. Will I be refunded my shipping costs?
@Corkle13@MichaelRosenYes Why do we assume that because someone is speaking a language other than English on the streets of the UK, that it means they can't speak English?
@Mike45540870 @MaryWBousted 'More than 1 million children experienced destitution last year – meaning their families could not afford to adequately feed, clothe or clean them, or keep them warm – according to a major study which reveals an explosion of extreme poverty in the UK.' How's your comprehension?
Child poverty destroys children’s life chances. 40% of the attainment gap is created before they start school. Teachers cannot compensate for hunger, cold, overcrowding. Child poverty on this scale is a deliberate govt. choice and it is shameful. https://t.co/bXsV3CceQx
@British_Airways I appreciate this isn't your fault as the poor person having to read everyone's rage fueled tweets but if I don't receive an appropriate update from your team in the next two weeks, I will be submitting a complaint to the ILT.
@British_Airways submitted a claim on 21st July, haven't heard anything from you since 27th August when you sent me a holding email. Not only am I owed compensation for my flight, but you also owe me for out of pocket expenses including a hotel. How much longer will I be waiting?
@British_Airways Is there a legal requirement on how soon claims must be processed? It seems wild to me that it would be legal to withhold money owed to customers for months on end. You literally owe me hundreds of euros.
