A5 I imagine students could grade each other. I used a rubric once and they helped each other look to make sure each part was added and nothing left out...before they handed it in. I think that was a fun exercise for them....helping each other get a good grade. #flipclass
@lanier_katiesue@bamaguy1218 maybe for art...like a dropbox for portfolios where they can "art critique" and encourage each other's work. I like it! #flipclass
@UNlearnREteach Yes, adults/teachers taking responsibility...I like that you pointed that out. I want to set them up with their best foot forward. #flipclass
@UNlearnREteach I'm haven't tried flipping my classroom yet, but is seems like there will always be a handful who choose the easy way out." helpful insight. thanks. #flipclass
(in reference to teaching art) Students get to choose what to paint, draw, and form...so instruction from home sounds like a huge time-saver: Instructions outside class and make the beautiful mess with me...haha #flipclass
A1 I'm thinking students will always choose more time to create than watch me in class...so they can watch from home and then create more during class. #flipclass#flipcasschat
Hello #flipclass! Kim here! I taught elementary art for 3 years. I have never flipped my classroom before but it seems like a great idea for the art room.
@d_mulder@lndsyndrsn@emilyjhuffman@mycah_hulst That is really interesting. I believe Dordt has an Instagram page and deciding which student or staff member to oversee that is tricky. You want someone engaged in campus culture and well rounded enough to give a good picture of campus life and academic rigor. #DC508
@lndsyndrsn@d_mulder@emilyjhuffman@mycah_hulst I was talking to a principal a little while back and he mentioned not integrating a specific technology class into their students' schedule because of how much they use technology already. #DC508
@lndsyndrsn Maybe the implication is that the younger we are, the more "teachable" or "adaptive" we are? A child's mind and experience is more like a blank slate. An Adult mind is a pile of experiences so we have to immigrate to get to a place of sorting through our prior learning. #DC508
teen quote for some teacher encouragement: "I truly believe that the most memorable parts of my education have come when a teacher has taken the time to sit down and talk me through an equation." #DC508
surprising teen response to using Evernote: "I just wasnโt having it. People have been trying to capture the notebook experience with the addition of styluses and connectable keyboards, but for me, nothing will be the same as flipping open the real thing." SAME #DC508
