There are so many things I love about who God is - one of them being that He can handle anything we confess to Him.

He is a safe place. For our deepest hurts… our most doubt-filled questions… even our most daring dreams. We can take it all to Him.

God is working things out. He’s not far away. He is right here with us.
We need to cling to this hope. Believe this hope. Live out this hope.
Even if our prayers aren’t answered in the way and the timing we want. Even when this process feels messy. We will trust that God is good.

The student returns this year and is in my class. Because I have him first period, I rarely see him. But when I do he comes in late, doesn't do any work and his behavior is miserable. By October, mom pulls him from the school and we never see him again.

Lord, help us go to people. Listen to people. Start where they are, not where we want them to be. And from their point of need, lovingly share the Good News. We don’t want to run people over with our agendas and perceptions and points of view. We want to love them like You do.

We don’t have to be fearful about what this new week holds. God is already standing in every one of our tomorrows.

Standing there with His love. Waiting on us with His wisdom. Going before us with His hope and His provision.

Facing a lot of unknowns in life can be hard. But if we had all the blanks filled in, we would explain away God’s part in our story.

God doesn’t want to be explained away. He wants to be invited in.

Here’s one thing I always know for certain … what the enemy meant for evil God will use for good.

I will trust in God. Serve God. And even in the darkest nights when I still cry, I will find rest in the light of his love. Then tomorrow, I’ll get up and do it all again.
