Chris Msando had made it clear that nobody was going to rig the 2017 election.

He went on KTN and said it publicly.

He was confident, firm and clearly understood the responsibility that had been placed on him.

That interview mattered.

William Ruto understood what Msando was saying.

Uhuru Kenyatta was not particularly worried at that point.

They had already won the 2013 election and believed they understood the political terrain.

Then Msando was abducted, tortured and murdered.

Now here is the part people need to understand.

A man who was very close to Ruto told us what was happening inside that political circle. He spoke about a small group of roughly seven powerful Kalenjins and a few Kikuyus who had been brought close through money, influence and political patronage.

Moses Kuria was among the Kikuyus he mentioned.

The message coming from that circle was blunt:

One Luo could not be allowed to deny them power.

Then Chris Msando was dead.

William Ruto was behind the operation and the objective was to protect TUTAM by whatever means were considered necessary.

I am telling you this because the sequence of events matters.

A man publicly assuring Kenyans that the election could not be rigged is suddenly abducted, tortured and killed just days before an election.

That is not an ordinary coincidence to me.

Who wanted Msando out of the way?

Who organised it?

Who gave the orders?

Who executed them?

Who knew beforehand?

And who benefited from his death?

These are not questions that disappear because politicians change alliances or because another election comes along.

Chris Msando died protecting an electoral system that belonged to all of us.

There was a political decision behind his killing and you all know who made that decision and why.
