ABSTRACT LIVE (good vs bad)

I streamed on https://t.co/fGv9Kwhsdl last night, and I do think there is a lot of things that platform does super well and some things that could be improved upon

LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR PRIOR TO LISTING // EVEN THE CRITICISM’S I GIVE ARE WITH LOVE BECAUSE I KNOW THE PLATFORM IS IN IT’S INFANCY STAGE

okay here we go…

GOOD:

• discoverability
(this one is one of my favorites, because most new streamers in other platforms i.e. twitch, YouTube, kick would never be seen unless someone was specifically seeking them out // this platform is kind to all streamers, no matter experience which I LOVE)

• only tips
(I think it’s a super dope that the ONLY way you can be monetized on the platform is from tipping and in the future the xp you gain from using the platform // I think most times streamers put too much focus on the monetary aspect and not enough on being the best streamer they can be… abstract keeps people focused on what’s important imo)

• web2 onboarding
(SO many people that have not ever been into web3/crypto/nft that I know personally have signed up on the website and entered web3 SO seamlessly without a convoluted sign up process like let’s say Metamask has)

• all stream types in one
(I really enjoy that different types of streams are not split up into different categories // it allows whoever is trying to discover to check out a myriad of different types of people and hobbies that normally wouldn’t see that due to an algo on other platforms)

• light mode
(as someone that’s colorblind I think it’s so funny there’s only light mode at the moment // *insert laughing at my joke*)

BAD (constructive criticism):

• usernames
(this one was causing me to not be able to connect with people on a personal level when they said hello // there needs to be a username requirement at signup somehow in my opinion… I had to show people how to input their username multiple times // again not the biggest deal because I will always be willing to help, but would make things more streamlined this way and not have people showing up in chat as just a wallet addy)

• alerts on screen
(while I definitely don’t want the platform to be a copy of other streaming platforms out there, I think it would be really cool for people to be able to set custom or preset tip alerts to show more love to the donators in general // not a big deal just throwing it up)

• viewer count
(this one I think should be 0 or 100 // what I mean is I think you should either show viewer count no matter how many viewers or don’t show viewers at all… I think there should just be no viewer count ever // less pressure on streamers to try to unnecessarily deliver)

• more viewer interaction
(I don’t have a simple solution for this, and as I’ve said several times don’t want a copy of the other platforms but I’d like to see some implementation of other ways for viewers to interact with streamer and vice versa *polls, redemptions, etc*)

• analytics/metrics
(while I think that it’s good to have less stress on numbers, I would like to see numbers AFTER the stream when I can drop my shoulders and breathe // I do wanna see my growth and how much support received on the backend and also see stuff so I know what I’m doing right vs wrong)

AGAIN, the *bad* are not negative in any way // just constructive feedback

I think the team has done an AMAZING job and I love what I see so far // being a streamer and web3 lover makes me so happy seeing this come to fruition
