@dst6n01 One of the reasons we have to turn in our classroom keys is so nobody walks all over the freshly waxed floors! My school is also repainting *everything* this summer. (First time in over 20 yrs)
@educator4ever36 My school board is voting on whether teachers get the 3.5% raise recommended by the magistrate after mediation, or the 1.5% the district sooooo generously offered. Oh, and that's the raise for the school year that's almost over. Wow do teachers feel appreciated. π
@tjsingletonjr@sage_stage I agree coaches can use the information, and usually have no problem with keeping the coach in the loop, and even going to the coach if there are specific issues with a student-athlete. In the original post, the coach implying some threat to the teacher rubbed me the wrong way.
@newheightshow The Colts-Dolphins shitshow, please. Why are the Dolphins so bad this year? How long can Mike McDaniel expect to hold on as coach unless there's an immediate turnaround?
@MattRKay I have an Aisha (eye-sha) and an Asya (ah-see-ya) in the same class. For the first week, Asya corrected me every time I called on Aisha. βItβs Asya.β βNo, not this time!β
@OuizerTeacher Half are appointed by our union (on-site). We have a slate of nominees for the other half, who are voted on my non-admin faculty and staff. Elections every year.
@travisakers Public school teacher here. This is like a parent telling me "My taxes pay your salary" when they don't like what/how I teach or grade. First, each person's tax dollars are a miniscule portion of my salary. Second, I pay taxes too, so I pay some of my own salary. MYOB on SNAP.
@thecavemommy The creditors want to see if they can guilt surviving family members into paying the debt, even though they aren't legally required to. (This is totally separate from a question of whether the creditor can collect from the estate.)
