Principals… before you can be an “instructional leader”… you first have to be a good colleague. You have to be a good supporter. You have to be a champion for those you wish to lead.
We don’t need our teachers to be the most talented, the most innovative, or the most tech savvy. We need them to care about kids… care about their craft… work well with their colleagues… and come to work every day, excited about making a difference.
A lot of kids don’t like school.
That’s the reality.
When the adults in the building get to know those kids and genuinely care about them… they can turn that around.

The fact that we, as a collective society, are not listening to, supporting, helping and taking care of the very people who have dedicated their lives to educating, nurturing and helping other people’s children should outrage everyone. #teachers
