@BrentS2@glennbeck@Jason2bartlett We are just back from SA. To attend the funeral of my husbands brother who was ambushed, robbed and shot when his car broke down. Then they messaged us a day later pretending to be him asking for money. We now live in the UK.
@JennyAThatcher The hostility directed at children here is disgraceful. You may disagree with independent schools, but your comments suggest this is driven more by envy and prejudice than by any real understanding of the sector.
@porras_alberto@worstall If PS parents wanted less competition, they’d oppose grammars, stop comprehensives and academic excellence generally. Instead, many choose to spend their money on an education that suits their children. Wanting the best for your child isn’t evidence of wanting less for anyone else
@WasOnceLoved@Anthony_J_Perry@ChefTomKerridge@GMB@UKLabour A Pigouvian tax is meant to discourage behaviour that imposes costs on society. If VAT on private schools is a Pigouvian tax, you’re arguing that educating your child privately is a social harm. Interesting position.
Last week, the gov. released the latest data pertaining to teacher numbers. It showed that there are 1,900 fewer teachers today than 2024.
Despite this, Labour have claimed that they're on track to achieve their manifesto pledge.

@AngelaRayner Spare us the NHS outrage. You’ve dragged the NHS to court over your son’s treatment, but now you pretend you’re its biggest defender? Come on.
@ISC_schools It’s frustrating to see the impact of VAT on schools being spun as some inspirational story. Families have been uprooted, staff have lost jobs, and pupils are anxious. This deserves honesty, not PR!
@PolitlcsUK You can’t build a fair tax system by chasing people who aren’t residents in the UK. That’s not serious policymaking. Hard to support the Lib Dems when they float ideas like this
