Thousands of residents in Pereira, Colombia turned out on Thursday to pay tribute to student Lucas Villa Vasquez, who died during anti-government protests that have rocked the country. According to reports, Vasquez died after being shot eight times during a protest.
Lucas Villa, a 37-year-old student & yoga teacher who was protesting peacefully in Colombia, was shot 8 times & is brain dead. He’d been photographed shaking hands with police on day he was shot. Protesters want fair economic reform, police reform, peace treaty implementation...
I condemn the Colombian National Police (PNC) & the ESMAD brutality we have seen over the past 13 days against peaceful protesters in Colombia. The US must seriously reevaluate its assistance to Colombia's police & military until violence is no longer wielded against its people.
After yesterday’s deadly attacks against the Guardia Indígena we stand with them in solidarity and continue to condemn all forms of state repression, violence and racism in Colombia.

Every single day helicopters make their rounds over the city, i hear them right above my roof several times a day. Meanwhile people have no access to gas and food? how great it would be if instead of surveilling us they would use those resources to get food to secluded areas
