Private profit making is what we decided on — so we get:
. Greedy private aged care
. Abusive private child care
. Harmful private schools
. Exploitative private tollways
. Inefficient private NDIS providers
. Useless private employment services
. For-profit private op shops
. And public and private money creamed off the top into private pockets.
Why?
Australia decided ‘democratic socialism’ was undesirable.
So privatisation through ‘neoliberalism’ is it.
The solution?
Nationalisation of privatised services, paid for by taxing the resource companies and cancelling the submarines.

🇮🇹🇺🇦 WOW! WHAT A SPEECH! WHAT POWERFUL WORDS FROM ITALIAN PRIME MINISTER GIORGIA MELONI!
Here is the full five-minute excerpt of her speech devoted to Ukraine and Donald Trump.
“Russia has launched a new autumn campaign against Ukraine.
Unable to advance on the battlefield, Moscow has increasingly turned its attacks against civilians: power plants, residential buildings, hospitals, and even buses carrying people to work, as in the horrific massacre in Kramatorsk.
This is a strategy through which Russia seeks to subjugate Ukraine with terror, cold, and darkness, simply because it has failed to conquer it on the battlefield.
The facts contradict Kremlin propaganda and those who spread it here.
Since the beginning of the year, Russia has captured very little territory, and in September it lost much of what it had previously seized.
This halt did not happen by chance. It was achieved through Ukraine’s courage and Western support, including that of Italy.
This resistance is the only effective instrument for bringing Russia to the negotiating table.
I respect and understand the passionate debate on this issue, including within this chamber, because nobody here wants war.
We all want peace.
The difference lies in how we intend to achieve it.
As I see it, supporting Ukraine is not an alternative to peace. It is what makes peace possible.
Because if an aggressor expects its opponent to surrender, why would it negotiate?
Surrender is not peace. It is conquest.
If Ukraine stopped defending itself tomorrow, as many suggest, we would not have peace.
We would be discussing the occupation of a European nation and the return of Soviet imperialism.
Personally, I do not miss those times. I do not miss Russian tanks crushing uprisings in Prague and Budapest.
I do not miss the Berlin Wall.
And nobody will ever convince me that the surrender of those defending their freedom can be called ‘peace.’
The peace we want, and the peace we are working toward, even at the cost of concessions, is a just peace, because only a just peace can endure.
Only a just peace can protect Europe and our interests.
That is why our government's position remains unchanged: support for Ukraine, with particular attention to civilians, pressure on Moscow, and Euro-Atlantic unity remain the pillars of our actions.
In this context, we must address Donald Trump's diesel agreement with Russia.
This is a decision I consider extremely risky.
Of course, we all recognize the need to contain fuel prices, which place a heavy burden on families, including Italian families.
But we must understand that rising prices are primarily linked to the war in Iran, not Ukraine.
Legitimizing Moscow, whose bombs continue to fall on Ukrainian cities, providing new revenues to finance the war, and weakening sanctions are all factors we cannot ignore.
And they contradict everything Western nations, including the United States, have done to force Putin to the negotiating table.
An energy ceasefire is a different matter, one that Italy supports, and we are grateful to President Zelenskyy for Ukraine's immediate willingness to agree to it.
Now we expect Russia to stop attacking Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
Finally, at such a difficult moment, when so many variables are beyond our control, there is at least one thing that depends on us:
We must ensure that Europe does not simply stand by and watch, because the terms of peace will affect our continent and our security.”
— Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of Italy
MAKE NO MISTAKE:
By interrupting Ukraine's Starlink access, trump and Elon Musk are ACTIVELY helping Russia, the country that is helping Iran target and KILL American soldiers.
I don't care what party you belong to.
This is inexcusable.
It takes a certain kind of man to go into a woman only space or woman’s sport, knowing full well they don’t want him there, and not only do it anyway but belittle the women while doing it.
If a politician wants to ignore men in women’s spaces, dismiss women’s sex based rights & instead talk about domestic violence, she should be damn sure there are no men who claim to be women convicted of domestic violence in women’s prisons, because there are, & not knowing that makes you look like an ignorant idiot.
Trump's Pentagon is planning to livestream an execution on 3 December, and Australia has no law to keep it off our screens. I just signed this petition to Albanese – it takes 10 seconds. https://t.co/Yp3I0JiG5k
🚨 “Strip that protection away, and a Catholic school’s decision to uphold its teachings on biological reality and the dignity of the human person could become grounds for costly and prolonged litigation.
“And it won’t stop at a teacher’s ‘preferred pronouns’. If religious schools can no longer rely on religious exemptions in decisions involving gender identity, they risk discrimination complaints over how they uphold their beliefs in everyday school life.”
My latest piece for @WomensForumAust on why @spenderallegra's new bill is compulsion wearing the mask of inclusion.
📣 Contact your federal MP today and urge them to vote against a bill that undermines religious freedom in schools and erodes sex-based rights.

So, millions of children in America are banned from reading Brontë’s ‘Jane Eyre’ but allowed to watch a live-streamed execution?
That is beyond F*cked up
For those asking: Australia has now added its name to joint statement - with Canada, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, UK- criticising the Trump Administration's latest sanctions on the ICC. Sounds like delay largely due to timezones etc

As the Victorian election approaches, a reminder about something many would rather forget - the Pandemic. I reject the story being peddled that rights were needlessly suppressed and harms done carelessly. Fact is, thousands of vulnerable lives were saved. https://t.co/iOYrxN2hed
For the better part of a decade, trans activists have demanded that any man who claims to be a woman *is* a woman, which by their own logic includes this POS who embodies every one of the worst possible scenarios associated with men getting the legal status of “woman”.
"Women’s spaces were hard fought for and won in the teeth of sexist resistance. Mr Cole Hamiliton is just the latest in a long line of men who seek to deny women our rights."
Andrew Tate: "Reading books is for losers...Books are a total waste of time."
Kanye West: "I am not a fan of books...I am a proud non-reader of books."
Clavicular: "I don't really read books...you could just get the information through summaries and articles."
Alix Earle: “I’ve never read a book. Like, maybe Dr. Seuss."
Don't be like these people.
Pick up a book today.
Sending a 76-year-old widower home from heart surgery with “instructions in the portal” is negligence with a login screen.
A retired mechanic had a bypass on a Tuesday. Discharged Friday. The nurse handed him a sheet that read: “Post-op care instructions, medication changes, and warning signs are available in your patient portal.”
He lives alone. No email. A flip phone he calls “the brick.”
For three days, nobody told him which pills to stop. He took them all.
His son found him gray in the face on Sunday and drove him back to the ER.
The instructions had been in the portal the whole time. Nobody printed a single page.
When did “go home and rest” turn into “go home and log in”?
BBC News has now published a follow-up video to its 'trans inclusive toilets' story in Oxford.
And it's even worse. There isn't even a pretence of balance.
Again, everyone interviewed is a trans activist, and the story is entirely presented from a trans activist viewpoint.
By substituting an artificial social performance (gender) for an unalterable biological reality (sex), gender theory has achieved a bizarre outcome: it defends patriarchal stereotypes as if they are innate identities, dismisses the oppression of women as secondary to men who are oppressed by other men for imitating women, and labels feminism as "exclusionary" for prioritizing female people.
