I teach auto shop at a small high school. We work on students cars, teachers cars, students parents cars and some community people cars. We only charge for parts and not labor, so we saved some people a lot of money last school year. This last school year we did 126 oil changes, 68 brake jobs, 85 alignments, 4 steering racks, 22 tune ups, 32 struts, 20 shock absorbers, 4 transfer cases, mounted and balanced 82 new tires, 4 timing chains, 15 valve cover gaskets, 14 thermostats, 4 radiators, 12 in tank fuel pumps, 8 EVAP canisters, 6 exhaust manifolds, 4 mufflers, 15 AC repairs including evacuate and recharge, 8 alternators, 22 batteries, 9 starters and so much more! Proud of those students I am!

Norway just released their official 2026 World Cup team photo — and the internet has completely lost its mind.

Every single player is dressed head-to-toe in authentic Viking warrior attire. Shields, swords, longships, and a dramatic Oslo fjord in the background. No airplane steps. No tracksuits. Just 26 footballers looking like they sailed out of the ninth century.
The photo is titled "The Vikings Are Coming."

It was shot by renowned British photographer David Yarrow, who privately secured a beach near Oslo and transformed it into a full Viking camp. The idea actually started back in 2023, when Yarrow first photographed Erling Haaland alone in Viking dress, waist-deep in a fjord. The photographer later said: "If you had to choose one sportsperson in the world that doesn't need much hair and makeup to look like a Viking, it's Erling Haaland."

One small detail that makes this even better — captain Martin Ødegaard couldn't make the shoot. He was busy winning the Champions League final with Arsenal in Budapest that day. So Yarrow photographed him separately afterward and digitally added him into the frame. Even the clouds matched.

The numbers behind this team are absurd. Haaland scored 16 goals in just eight qualifying matches — the most of any player across all of European qualifying. Norway won every single one of those eight games, including two victories over Italy: 3-0 in Oslo and 4-1 at the San Siro. Italy, a four-time world champion, will not be at this World Cup. Norway will.

They haven't been to a World Cup since 1998. That's a 28-year wait.

At the tournament, they face Iraq, Senegal, and France in the group stage — with their final game setting up a direct battle between Haaland and Kylian Mbappé.

My waiter had dementia and forgot my order.

I visited a cafe in Japan that ONLY hires people with Dementia. It's called the Cafe Of Mistaken Orders.

Sometimes the servers bring you the wrong food, never bring your order, or sit down and join you instead.

But the point of this cafe is to be a place for dementia patients to feel needed and have purpose.

And this cafe is working. Japan has discovered that being socially connected actually slows down the progression of dementia.

So now there are 8,000 dementia cafes all over Japan!

The U.S. should be more like Japan. We should keep elders out of nursing homes, find ways to give them purpose, and part of society until their last days.

Just a reminder that as GenX with boomer parents, the summer childcare plan for me was to drop me off at the city pool everyday from 10-6 with $1.50 in quarters and a towel. Lunch from a vending machine, no sunscreen, no life vest. We survived on sunshine, water fountains, and sun-bleached teenaged lifeguards. My friend knocked her teeth out on the diving board. The pool manager rinsed her mouth out with coke, gave her some paper towels and told her when it stopped bleeding she could get back in. We never questioned it. 😅

From Cleveland-Cliffs steel to Sherwin-Williams coatings, local companies across Greater Cleveland contributed materials and expertise to the ship’s construction.

The ship will depart Cleveland on May 19 and sail through the St. Lawrence Seaway to its home port in Jacksonville, Florida.

You really understand grandkids when you've got two... and realize real quick, one is not like the other.
One of them sits nicely, uses their manners, and could probably host a tea party for royalty without breaking a sweat.
The other one? I'm pretty sure if I turned my back for five minutes, they'd reorganize the house, the dog, and possibly my entire belief system.
One says, "Grandma/Grandpa, may I please have a cookie?"
The other is already eating it... and negotiating tor two more.
I love them both the same-but let's just say one of them came with an instruction manual... and the other one came with a warning label. 😂❤️
