@Hannah119554@beh353 Food really is medicine! With our knowledge of nutrition, we can educate patients on how to heal themselves through proper nutrition and gain control of their health. #beh353@beh353
I plan to incorporate all my knowledge of nutrition into my patient education in my career. Nutrition and oral health go hand in hand as nutrition plays a major role in your oral health. Good nutrition=good oral health. Good oral health=good overall health. #beh353@beh353
@EmmaDArpinoRD Thank you for joining us and talking about the many stigmas around nutrition! I really liked that you mentioned frozen fruits and vegetables being an option because I think many people feel they aren't as healthy, but they are a great option. #beh353@beh353
This is such a simple and cute way to help children get involved with nutrition! I chose this because it easy for a child to grasp but helps them understand portions and nutrients too! #beh353@beh353
https://t.co/jhGAhHgyT9 would be an excellent resource to recommend to patients who want to alter their diet and make healthier choices. #beh353@beh353

@AishHannahA@beh353 I love that you mentioned this! It is really unfortunate that many health conditions go overlooked if someone is overweight. Hopefully as the new generation of health care professionals, we can change the narrative. #beh353@beh353
As a future hygienist, an analysis we do is a nutritional analysis. Patients do a 24 hour recall to look at their intake and see what is causing caries. This can help with weight management as well by choosing healthier meals.#beh353@beh353
This is a great article that breaks down the common misconceptions of eating disorders. Mental health can be a huge factor in obesity and other eating disorders. #beh353@beh353
Myth: Teen girls only experience eating disorders.
Fact: Eating disorders can affect anyone of any age. Learn about eating disorders on https://t.co/hSBiEmCrT6.

@anjalikhatra13@beh353 I think finances is not what people often consider in terms of obesity. We never know what is going on in someone else's life so instead of putting someone down for their weight, people need to understand one another and uplift each other. #beh353@beh353
It is important for everyone to know obesity, like other diseases is not a choice for many. We have to understand hidden conditions that someone may have that influence their weight. Empower and uplift people to live a positive, healthy life. #beh353@beh353
This is great since I mentioned it's difficult to stay healthy with a low budget sometimes. These snacks are easy to bring to class with me and require little to no prep. #beh353@beh353
Great snacks for someone on a budget include:
🥜 peanut butter
🍿 popcorn
🥣 oatmeal

@gabbyrien @beh353 Same here! I commute from a town on the RI border so I can relate! I work in addition to commuting and doing homework so when it's time to eat I need something quick and unfortunately it's often not the healthiest foods. #beh353@beh353
The barrier I relate to the most from the article is "lack of time to plan, shop, prepare and cook healthy meals" being a full time student, when I get home from class I have no time to shop and cook in addition to studying and doing work. #beh353@beh353
This is a great article showing what to look out for when choosing a multivitamin. After reading this I realized there is a couple things my multivitamin could use in order to be more effective.

@gabbyrien @beh353 This is interesting considering it is one of the most popular supplements! I would definitely say this is most likely a social media fad unfortunately. I wish there were more regulations for things like this #beh353@beh353
This is a multivitamin I started taking recently in order to ensure I'm reaching my daily intake on vitamins and nutrients. I was pleased to see how little added sugar there was! #beh353@beh353
@cassandra_59783@beh353 I like this article because it's a small and simple change that anyone can make in their diets to be healthier. It's also a great source to provide to patients looking to make better choices in their diet. #beh353@beh353
This is a great source to find out how to include healthy ingredients in your food at an affordable cost. Being able to afford fresh produce can be difficult for some but canned goods is a great alternative. #beh353@beh353
If I were to provide a patient with a high-quality popular press article for education, I think this would be a great choice. I consider this a high-quality article because it was written by a RDN with an MS and an MPA.

I was able to find this post about the protein content within certain types of milk. I would have never thought that lower fat milk would have a higher protein content compared to a higher fat milk. #beh353@beh353
Happy #WorldMilkDay.
DYK that low-fat #milk may have a slightly higher #protein content per serving compared with #whole milk, since removal of some #fat increases the proportion of protein per serving? 🥛
