📌 UPDATE ON THE 100% TUITION POLICY 📌

Despite intensive diplomatic efforts by the 92nd Guild Government, Management has maintained a strict 100% tuition requirement for the exam series starting tomorrow, 18th May.

However, a window remains for individual appeals in cases of genuine financial hardship. We call upon all affected students to peacefully approach the Vice Chancellor’s Office tomorrow morning with their:

- Student ID
- Provisional Financial Statement
- Commitment Letter

I wish to draw the attention of the public to the matters regarding the Speakership race.
After wide consultations and deep introspection, and to maintain harmony and clarity in my beloved party, the @NRMOnline, I wish to categorically and unequivocally state that I will not be offering myself for the Speakership race of the 12th Parliament.
I am greatly indebted to H.E @KagutaMuseveni, my party, the @NRMOnline, and members of the 11th Parliament for giving me the opportunity to serve as Deputy Speaker and Speaker.
I am equally indebted to my family and friends for the solidarity and support they have extended to me over the last five years.

Finance Minister @MatiaK5 accompanied by Ministers including @GenWamala @DrRwamiramaBK @drsam_mayaja @LillianAber & @JCMuyingo today appeared before @Parliament_Ug Committee on National Economy to present the proposal to borrow up to USD 1,341 million from the International Development Association of @WorldBank & also receive grants worth USD 328.3 million to finance a number of projects and programs in Uganda.

The projects & Programs include: Phase four of the Northern Uganda Social Action Fund (NUSAF IV); Phase two of the Development Response to Displacement Impacts Project ( DRDIP II); Uganda Learning Acceleration Program (ULEARN); Uganda Cities and Municipalities Infrastructure Development (UCMID) Program and Uganda Strengthening Public Investment and Asset Management for Growth and Resilience Program (PIMPLUS).

@MatiaK5 also presented the proposal to borrow USD 20 million from BADEA for the Nebbi -Goli road (16KM) and Euro 115,876,831 from Standard Chartered Bank to finance the critical oil roads package 6B (design & build upgrading of Karugutu-Ntoroko road 56km, link to Rwebisengo 8.2km and 3.3km of town roads in Ntoroko, making a total of (68km).

Kasaija also presented the proposal to borrow EURO 192,959,605.47 from CITI Bank to finance the proposed Phase 1 of the Enhancing Agricultural Production, Quality and Standards for Market Access Project.

This particular project is expected to improve the quality of Uganda's agricultural products for local and external markets.

@MatiaK5 requested @Parliament_Ug to approve the loan requests to finance the above areas which will contribute to Uganda's Tenfold Growth.

The Committee Chairperson Hon. Ikojo John Bosco received the proposals and said Committee was ready to scrutinize the proposals and report back to the House.
