@BehaviorQueen I have a special 2nd grade friend who takes "brain breaks" with me once a day. Her favorite thing to do on her break is read to me, so I'd love to share this new book with her. She struggles with choices and kindness, so I think this will be a perfect message for her!
We took away so many great strategies! Two favorites were frustration cards for kids to use when they need a short "tap-out" break in class and using stretchy bracelets or key rings w/beads as fidgets.
In honor of #NSCW19 , I will give away 5 copies of my new book to the first five school counselors to tweet any strategy or take away they learned in one of my sessions! I want to be YOU all when I grow up! Presale Feb 12th! #Schoolcounselors#teachers#SEL#PBIS#kidlit#books

One of the first steps in connecting with a challenging student… is to LIKE them, rather than “put up” with them. It’s amazing how the attitude of the adult can affect the attitude of the kid.
