Basically, this is what happens. You're needed to provide things & you can't cause you simply lack income even access to the kid gets revoked. You've not abandoned responsibility you can't handle it & you will be called a deadbeat. I've seen it play out.

Toyota Land Cruiser 300 series and Lexus LX600 recalled YET AGAIN!!
Some of the recalled units might already be in some Kenyan Showrooms.
Before you buy any of these two siblings take a moment to read this;
On July 22nd 2026; Toyota South Africa (TSAM) and Lexus South Africa Motors (LSAM), together with the National Consumer Commission (NCC), issued safety recalls for some specific Toyota Land Cruiser 300 and Lexus LX600 models due to a manufacturing defect in their shared V35A twin-turbo V6 petrol engine.
This recall affects;
507 Toyota Land Cruiser 300 series (Units sold in SA between December 13, 2022, and May 7, 2024)
124 Lexus LX600s
(Units sold in SA between December 15, 2022, and May 7, 2024)
The root cause of the recall is; during a specific manufacturing period, metal machining debris was not completely cleared from the engine blocks before the final assembly. The result of this is; while the specific engines are under sustained heavy loads, these debris may cause increased friction and in turn the friction is likely to cause bearing failure.
The potential failure symptoms from these are characterised by;
1. Drivers may experience engine knocking, rough idling.
2. Loss of motive power,
3. Failure to start.
4. A complete engine stall while driving which may present a crash hazard at high speeds.
In order to solve this, Toyota and Lexus have offered to perform a complete engine swap at zero cost to affected owners.
To check if your unit is affected, visit the official Toyota SA website and navigate to their Recall Check page.
This is coming after yet another recall issued by Toyota and Lexus South Africa in March of this year (2026) involving a faulty software in the 10-speed automatic transmission in which the ECU was reported to fail in properly detecting linear solenoid errors, potentially leading to over-revving, transmission housing damage, or transmission fluid leaks.

This is classic populism that ignores how healthcare is actually delivered in many public hospitals. We don't use personal phones because it's convenient, we use them because the system depends on them.
In many facilities there are no functional no integrated communication systems, no hospital-issued smartphones or tablets. Personal phones are routinely used to: • Access web-based Electronic Medical Records (EMRs). • Consult clinical guidelines and drug reference resources at the point of care. • Coordinate emergency referrals and specialist reviews. • Share clinical images securely within approved in-house consultation groups for timely decision-making.
