Many years ago we started teaching all @UCSFMedicine, @StopTheBleed. It has been a great effort in partnership with @zsfg Trauma Service. Many thanks to Sarah Garden, RN. The students now teach the community of San Francisco. Had a great session with 30 people this weekend.
In this Systematic Review & Meta-analysis and an Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST) Practice Management Guideline, we provide four evidence-based recommendations on the use of TXA in patients at risk of hemorrhage.

While VV-ECMO support in isolated blunt thoracic trauma patients is associated with higher survival rates even in non-ARDS cases, it is associated with higher incidence of complications.

Achievement of hemostasis is associated with coagulation, transfusion volumes and mortality benefits. Early whole blood resuscitation is associated with a greater independent odds of achieving hemostasis & at an earlier time point over the first 4 hours.

Changes have occurred in the resuscitation of trauma patients due to a better understanding of trauma-induced coagulopathy. Prehospital, in-hospital transfusions & adjuncts such as TXA, PCC, Calcium, & Fibrinogen/Cryo are now being used.
