Loving all things media, real estate, volunteering and gardening. Attempting to make a difference in all things!! BTW- this girl loves her country music!! :)
I love Alberta. I grew up here. Built my life here. Watched my siblings raise their children here. My family built businesses here. My parents taught at the University of Alberta and helped shape generations of students. My grandfather was awarded the Order of Canada for his contributions to this province and played a role in keeping the Edmonton Oilersfrom leaving Edmonton.
I am as Albertan as they come. But I am every bit as proud to be Canadian.
So when I see people trying to convince Albertans that our future lies in separation, I reject it completely. Alberta’s strength has never come from walking away. It has come from building, contributing, fighting to be heard, and helping shape this country into something better.
I will spend every ounce of energy I have defending federalism, defending Canada, and keeping this beautiful province exactly where it belongs: in Canada.
SICKENING: AOC Just showed off the Georgia drinking water from Meta's AI Data Centers. Thank you @AOC:
"This is the current drinking water in Morgan County, Georgia. Right after a data center was constructed, the metadata center was constructed, the only difference between the clean water and this was that data center. I have another one as well. So this wasn't just one well, these wasn't just one family's situation. This is what the drinking water now looks like next to that data center. And I think both of us can agree that neither one of these things are drinkable. These families now have to ship, in a rural area, have to ship water to their house in order to cook and bathe themselves."
Two cabinet ministers ‘resigned’ yesterday, a week after they broke with the premier and opposed the government’s plans to force Albertans into a separatist referendum. Now, Premier Smith is finalizing the membership of her new separatist cabinet.
This cabinet shuffle does nothing for Albertans.
It’s still the largest cabinet in Alberta history. It still has four health ministers overseeing the destruction of public health care. It still has an energy minister allowing for coal mining in the Eastern Slopes. The Indigenous relations minister that recently had every First Nations Chief vote non-confidence in this government is the same. And it still has a municipal affairs minister that is hiring library inspectors.
This government doesn’t care about the needs of Albertans. It’s doing nothing about the cost-of-living crisis. It’s not creating jobs for the future. And it's destroying public services.
No cabinet shuffle can fix that.
Update from #ableg hellscape:
1. UCP really wanted to blame Lukaszuk and the 400k ABs who told the separatists to get stuffed for a referendum
2. There’s a sham committee
3. UCP staff pressed “send” on the committee press release, before the vote, on the outcome of the vote
🧵
If Smith actually pulls the trigger on a separatist referendum on Thursday, she’s a traitor. Pure & simple.
She didn’t campaign on this, to my eyes she is violating her oath by calling the question, & she showing absolute contempt for First Nations.

Wow! While the committee is still deliberating on the #ForeverCanadian petition, government just issued a press release that the committee has already made a decision and recommended a referendum on separatism.
Wow! Decision announced before it was made. A gong show?

Last year, the UCP passed Bill 54, which prohibits the "investigation of complaints where the election commissioner does not have reasonable grounds to believe the matter constitutes an offence under the act."
This appears to have had the practical effect of neutering Elections Alberta -- making it all but impossible for them to investigate complaints unless us citizens can prove something went wrong to a criminal standard. It has, in effect, reversed the onus of responsibility to investigate wrongdoing.
This can be changed.
This data breach involving Elections Alberta is extremely serious. It has significant implications for Albertans’ privacy and data, and raises many questions that require answers.
That is why Alberta’s New Democrats are calling for an emergency meeting and the summoning of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Elections Alberta to testify before MLAs. We have written to the Chair of the Standing Committee on Legislative Offices calling for this emergency meeting, including our request for the CEO of Elections Alberta to appear and testify.
Albertans deserve clear answers about what happened: when did Elections Alberta became aware of the breach, and why action appears to have been taken so late?
Alberta’s New Democrats immediately alerted authorities upon learning about an alleged privacy breach on April 17. Journalists have now publicly reported they alerted Elections Alberta weeks earlier about these concerns. These delays in taking action to protect the privacy of Albertans must be fully explained.
While we are limited in our scope and formal powers as legislators in opposition, Alberta’s New Democrats will continue to use every tool available to us to get to the bottom of this matter, and defend Albertans’ privacy and data concerns. As Leader of the Official Opposition, I am calling for the following actions:
• The UCP government must reverse Bill 54’s provisions that came into effect in 2025 and weakened Elections Alberta’s investigative powers.
• Elections Alberta must provide Albertans with a clear public update on the status of this breach.
• The UCP government must provide a comprehensive update on this incident with actions they will be taking as a government, and actions Albertans should take to protect themselves from the potential misuse of their private information.
Albertans deserve to feel confident that their personal information is protected, that our democratic institutions are acting swiftly and transparently, and that our elections are secure.
#ForeverCanadian volunteers, Police, Elections Alberta and Judges will deal with cheaters.
We will stay positive, honest and determined to keep Canada united.

Nolan Hill in Calgary & Cochrane are 30 kms apart.
What does the neighborhood of Reunion in North Airdrie have in common with Sage Hill in Calgary?
Under the UCP minority report, these areas share the same MLA.
This is gerrymandering, in plain sight.

Danielle Smith is absolutely shameless about supporting separatists over every day Albertans.
They get everything they want while the you get skyrocketing costs, crumbling healthcare & overcrowded schools.
Just more evidence the UCP puts their friends first & you last. #ableg
3 UCP legislature committee members forced a vote through to deny me, the proponent of #ForeverAlberta petition, Alberta’s largest ever petition, to appear before the committee and speak on behalf of the nearly 500,000 Albertans.
This is another move to assist the separatists.
.@ABDanielleSmith Why are you so afraid to put the #ForeverCanadian question to a Legislature vote?
If you are afraid and insist on a referendum, then put this question on the ballot. It received half million signatures, is approved and constitutional.

Today, again, Danielle Smith and 3 UCP MLAs made it clear whom they’re supporting.
Even though premier claims to be confused on the #ForeverCanadian petition, they denied me to appear before the committee. They also delayed the work of the committee to give separatists time.
There is a reason that we do not have MLAs decide on electoral boundaries. Tossing out the Electoral Boundaries Commission and replacing it with a UCP-dominated committee is not just a bad idea. It is really bad for democracy. Ask the US, ask Hungary. This is not normal!
Danielle Smith & the UCP hate accountability
So much so, they’re setting themselves up to rig our next election.
We all need to stand up & tell them NO.
Premier Smith:
780-427-2251

Minister of Justice:

It’s official.
The UCP are going all in on rigging the next election.
It’s unprecedented and unacceptable.
MLAs should have no part in drawing the boundaries for the seats they run to represent.
We’ll have more to say soon because Alberta, we need to fight back. #ableg
