The Ohio General Assembly has approved the mailing of an absentee ballot application to all registered voters. If you haven’t received it already, it should arrive soon.
Here are some facts ⬇️⬇️⬇️
1️⃣ This is an application for an absentee ballot, NOT a actual ballot. Ohio does not send ballots unsolicited, and the mail-in ballot request and delivery process follows a meticulously bipartisan verification and security protocol.
2️⃣ Ohio has mailed absentee ballot applications to all voters for more than a decade. Prior to the statewide mailing, larger urban counties were sending applications which created an unfair partisan advantage against counties that couldn’t afford the mailing. This mailing ensures all voters are treated equally in receiving an application.
3️⃣ Any time a mailing is sent to nearly 8 million people, there will be isolated delivery issues. We want to know about them. Most are due to the complex requirements around voter list maintenance, but we’re ready to review every issue, if you can provide complete details.
4️⃣ As always, it’s a felony offense to fraudulently submit an absentee application or a ballot. If you have evidence or suspicion of any illegal election activity, please report it to our Election Integrity Unit for investigation: https://t.co/r2gcsBJghT
5️⃣ This is one of the many ways Ohio’s secure, accessible election process remains the national Gold Standard.
Ohio's gold standard comes through rigorous preparation, bipartisan professionalism, clear transparency, and constant improvement.

This is from a few years ago, but the message is timeless. We continue to honor those who fought for their right to vote by telling their story. Take time today to talk to your kids about the importance of voting.

Accurate voter rolls are the foundation of secure elections.
Through regular list maintenance, data verification, and state and federal partnerships, Ohio continues to maintain the gold standard for election integrity.
Ohio didn't achieve the gold standard by accident.
We earned it through vigilance, transparency, and an unwavering commitment to doing things the right way. We work every day to maintain that standard.
Ohio is the gold standard for election integrity.
With photo ID requirements in place, Ohio had the second-highest turnout in the 2024 presidential election.
There is no reason to not implement this nationwide.
From day one, we’ve made expanding and strengthening Ohio’s Safe at Home program a top priority because no Ohioan should have to choose between exercising their right to vote and protecting their personal safety.

Building the gold standard doesn't happen overnight. Since I took office, we've implemented stronger cybersecurity standards, expanded county support, and continued investing in secure elections.
President Trump offered some concerning information that needs to be fully examined and investigated. Fortunately, Ohio is getting it right. I’m proud that we’ve been recognized by the President’s administration tonight as one of 10 states that are protecting elections, but the nation can’t afford a patchwork system where some states lead on election security while others fail to meet the moment.
Keeping elections secure and accurate is a multi-pronged operation. Bipartisan oversight and chain of custody, thorough equipment testing, and continuous list maintenance are all critical pieces of the puzzle. In addition, I'm proud to say in Ohio:
✅ Every vote is recorded on voter-verified paper
✅ Every election is hand-count audited for accuracy
✅ Noncitizens are continuously removed from the voter rolls
✅ Our Public Integrity Division fines and refers those who break the law for prosecution
✅ We passed the Data Act to vastly improve data uniformity across all 88 counties.
There is always more work to be done, but I can guarantee that we will be Ready for November once again!
