If you think all teachers get the summer off, you must not know any teachers.
We’re technically unemployed, working second (or third) jobs, attending trainings, workshops, and prepping for the next school year.
But sure… tell me more about our “3-month vacation.”
Some students come to school because of band, sports, art, theater, and other extracurricular activities. Don’t underestimate what keeps some students connected.
What most people don’t realize about teachers:
They’re often the most consistent non-family adult in a child’s life—
and sometimes, the most consistent adult, period.
Kids don’t just want consistency. They need it.
And teachers quietly show up—every single day.
Here @NISDMay we have the Best of the Best Teachers and Staff!
Thank you to our area community businesses for your donations for our staff!

Dolly Parton didn't spend her dollars on space travel or a trip to the titanic because she was writing checks to put 150 million books in the hands of children. https://t.co/OgOuYVxoVS
A Hard Truth for Parents.
“If you do too much for your children, you are increasing your self-esteem by stealing theirs.”
Let them struggle. Let them figure it out.
The best gift you can give your kids is the belief that they can handle hard things.

This Pennsylvania barbershop is helping children build their confidence, paying young customers $3 to read stories aloud while getting a haircut deserves unlimited retweets..
If teachers only had to teach…
But they’re also social workers, counselors, nurses, mentors, mediators, tech support, and more.
They carry the weight of a system, not just a subject.
Appreciate them—for all the roles they fill daily.
