I built a free anonymous app for people who are struggling and don't know who to talk to
There was a period in my life where I was really not ok, I was going through a rough patch with work and fiancées completely disconnected from everyone around me and felt like there was no way out.
The hardest part wasn't the pain itself. It was feeling like I had nowhere to put it. I didn't want to burden my friends. I didn't want to seem weak. And calling a helpline felt like admitting something I wasn't ready to admit.
I just wanted someone to listen. Not fix it. Not judge it. Just hear it.
I couldn't find anything that felt right. Every app wanted me to create a profile, build a following, perform wellness. That's not what people who are struggling need.
So I built something.
It's called Kindlight. It's completely free, completely anonymous — no accounts, no profiles, no likes. Just quiet spaces where people can share what they're carrying, and others can show up for them.
There are rooms for grief, anxiety, loneliness, depression, and more. You can send private messages. You can just read and know you're not alone. And there's a full page of Australian crisis numbers — Lifeline, Beyond Blue, Kids Helpline — for anyone who needs more than peer support.
I'm not a therapist. I'm just someone who wished this existed when I needed it.
If you're going through something right now, or you know someone who might be — it's free and open right now at https://t.co/hCGECoyo6v
@IanCampbell__ This is just a first release, upgrades are happening I just wanted it to be released as soon as possible if there was a chance of helping some in need.
